Stopping new users posting pictures?

Is there any way? Like having to be a member for three months before accessing the sex topic, can they not have to be members for three months before posting images?

I'm seriously haunted by one tonight, and I don't usually get affected.

Coldtea I'm telling myself the same thing

I agree, just awful

RunnyRattata · 30/08/2016 00:44

The 1 I saw would not have been a real image because no way could a picture taken in those circumstances find itself in the public domain.

WatcherOfTheNight · 30/08/2016 00:46

Not read thread as still keeping eye but this is an excellent idea!
Nightwatch have been in touch with HQ about this & other issues so hopefully this idea can be added on!

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 00:47

Thank you Watcher. It would be good to see this happen, especially after tonight.

Ive been mooching about the Christmas topic all evening so thankfully didn't see any of the threads/images. Will avoid new threads tonight, just in case.

Posting vile images for your own sick kicks is never "a laugh" if you think it is you need help.

HobnailsandTaffeta · 30/08/2016 00:56

How sad, perhaps the person should read a good book or make some friends instead.

whywonthedgehogssharethehedge · 30/08/2016 00:57

I agree with the 30 day rule it used to be in force on other forums I visited back in the day. 30 days and 50 posts I think it was to access photos and the more sensitive forums.

UmbongoUnchained · 30/08/2016 00:57

Maybe get an early night so they're not cranky for the babysitter tomorrow...

I don't think it's just posting images, I really think that new posters all need to go through admin now. Not name changers, new email addresses. It's the only way I think now.

Frockingst · 30/08/2016 00:58

In the words of MistressMerryWeather,
Calm down Jeffery.

StrattersHasACunningPlan · 30/08/2016 08:12

Good plan, and if MNHQ are not going to change the sign up, maybe make it so that you can join, but you have to change from the user31457543232 to post anything.

Soubriquet · 30/08/2016 08:38

What on earth did I miss?!

BeyondASpecialSnowflake · 30/08/2016 08:56

I missed it too, but from what I can gather here it sounds like a good idea. I can't think of a reason why a new poster would urgently need to post a picture. And yes, if they do they could always do it via hq.

TanTanNubuck · 30/08/2016 09:30

It happened on Friday night/Sat morning too.
yy to new posters having a waiting period plus x amount of posts before they can post pics.

WatcherOfTheNight · 30/08/2016 09:38

It's ok Frockingst

WatcherOfTheNight · 30/08/2016 09:39

Oops wrong thread Blush

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 30/08/2016 11:43

Thanks all, yes any of us who saw those images the other night would agree with you, so we'll pass this on as a query to Tech and report back. Really sorry about the images, some of them were very upsetting. Apologies, and thanks again to the magnificent Nightwatchers who were on top of it throughout the small hours.

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 12:09

Thanks Helen. There should be some kind of lock similar to the one that's there to prevent them posting in certain topics. I'm still haunted this morning Sad

Is there any news about this yet AnotherHelenMN?
