Can someone remind me how to set this up so that I can see all the posts on one page? I did have it set but I can't remember how it is done.

Greenwood - if you go to the big Talk at the top of the page, there is a blue down arrow next to it. Click on that and Customise will appear as an option. :)

FibbyMcFibFace · 17/05/2016 01:15

I re registered after Jeffrey and was unable to have all posts on one page. They said it was so that Mumsnet runs more smoothly. I really miss it.

ThisShitIsBananas · 17/05/2016 01:45

The Customise options were deleted for new posters quite a long time ago.

After the Jeffrey incident last summer, MNHQ promised that they would give old posters such as myself, the "See all 1,000 messages" capability, if they had been forced to delete their old account and make a new one, following what happened.

So I deleted my old account and made a new one. Still waiting for my "See all messages" privileges to come back!

I never dereg-ed. Until today I had the 1000 messages, then suddenly this afternoon the screen flicked and poof! Gone!

ChopsticksandChilliCrab · 17/05/2016 01:57

I've also been affected by this, until yesterday I could see all the posts on one page. I don't like having to scroll to the next page on long threads, it will put me off reading them or posting as it will take me ages to find where I'm up to. Can we have a resume function that shows where we were up to last time we looked at a thread? That would mollify me slightly.

KickAssAngel · 17/05/2016 02:15

Oh - and now I sometimes get a box at the top with the OP, and sometimes not. WTF are they doing right now? It seems that Tech has been let out of the shed and has gone crazy on the gin.

So now I need to flip threads to read them from start to end, constantly having to go to the next page, instead of just having one long thread which I could read from the bottom up.

LadyCassandra · 17/05/2016 05:24

Grrr! Angry
Put. It. Back. [stamps feet]

Please!

Mominatrix · 17/05/2016 05:33

Yes, please put it back. These pages are irritating.

itsatiggerday · 17/05/2016 05:39

My max is now 100 too :-(. Can't remember how long I've been here....

AStreetcarNamedBob · 17/05/2016 06:06

Arrrrgh 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Ekorre · 17/05/2016 06:31

100 pages and I've been here for donkeys years. And clashy busy adverts on lots of pages.

I am really unhappy. I like the cleanness of MN and that you can just scroll. I hate clicking and clicking and clicking.

RVPisnomore · 17/05/2016 06:34

Why has no one from MNHQ come and explained what the hell is going on?

Piffpaffpoff · 17/05/2016 07:17

Please put it back, it's seriously irritating not having it.

TalkingintheDark · 17/05/2016 08:20

I never de-regged either and have been here for years. This is just rubbish.

MNHQ ARE YOU LISTENING???

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 17/05/2016 08:30

Arsing bollox to the 100 posts thing.

I was reading back on a long thread, had to go back a page to get to where I'd left off, got to "the end" (because I'd forgotten about the stupid fucking 100 posts to a page shit) and replied to what I thought was the last comment - except of course, it fucking wasn't was it. There was a whole extra page of comments that I'd missed because I'm so used to having it set to see the whole bloody thread.

IT'S SERIOUSLY FUCKING ANNOYING.

MrsLettuce · 17/05/2016 08:48

Yes, I have been here since god was a lad and also now no longer have the option for all on one page. Luckily I had it selected before it was vanished and my long threads are still showing all on one page, but it's very annoying.

Presumably if I now change anything in Customise I'll be forcibly moved to bloody pages. I'd rather a slower loading time and all on the one page than multiple loading times any day.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/05/2016 08:52

I have never deregged and have lost my all on one page :(

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 17/05/2016 09:03

I've never de-regged, or changed my customised settings for yonks, and I lost my 'all on one page' yesterday. I'm seriously irritated.

MrsLettuce · 17/05/2016 09:06

Is it being forced when people log out and back in again? I've not logged out for months but it is an option I like to haveHmm

MaisieDotes · 17/05/2016 09:08

They said it was so that Mumsnet runs more smoothly.

If "running more smoothly" is a euphemism for more clicks = more advertising revenue, then yes, that's why Hmm

RatOnnaStick · 17/05/2016 09:12

Oh, its changed since I posted last night! At least, the customise options have changed to allow only 100 posts buuuut, I backed out without saving any changes and long threads still show all on one page. I'm not going back into Customise for any money now in case it goes tits up and I lose my settings Angry.

MrsLettuce · 17/05/2016 09:15

yeah is blatantly all about advertising. By now I'd be bloody thrilled to have a paid version of MN sans ads and with the necessary functions for it to work properly. Would happily pay a tenner or even 20 quid a year for the floaty menu bar and 1000 messages per page. Bet there are others who feel the same way. The classic lovers would almost certainly be willing to pay to keep that.

claig · 17/05/2016 09:16

'Is it being forced when people log out and back in again?'

No, I was never logged out, it just happened. They snuck it in by surprise, probably hoped that no one would notice.

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 17/05/2016 09:18

Fuck. I expect mine will vanish sharpish too then Angry Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/05/2016 09:18

I'd pay for sure.
Running smoothly means an easy interface for users. Finding that you have missed several dozen posts because it moved on and the last page didn't automatically load when you refreshed does not equal smooth running.
