It's extremely glitchy and won't load. When it does load the words are very small in some areas.

It's all going wrong again.

I've rebooted my iPad and it's not that.

It's the most fragile, glitchy site I've ever been on Confused

Yes - mine is fine now! I cleared my history and that seemed to do the trick.
Glad I'm Active again - I felt like all the good stuff was passing me by!

RingDownRingUp · 24/09/2015 06:47

MN Towers here us a screen grab from just now after shrinking! Not sure if it helps though. It's more obvious when you're using the site and it shrinks before your eyes.

For for comparison, a screenshot of this page at normal size. No white margin down the right hand side.

I'm having loads of problems on my galaxy ace II phone. No problems with other sites, on my iPad it is fairly slow and clunky (nothing new there), but when I access mumsnet on my phone, it crashes after the first page. Fine from the Google search page to mumsnet, after that, it just hangs trying to load the next thing. It keeps overloading the ram and the only way I can stop it is exiting via task manager and clearing the ram memory! Then same happens again, first page from google fine, no luck after that.

hiddenhome2 · 24/09/2015 20:24

Wel, this weeks fun MN related activity involves 'how to log on'.

I get logged out, frequently and randomly.

I click on Log In.........nothing happens Hmm

I try to click on the Home Page.........again, nothing happens.

I have to shut down the page and head over to Google search box. Type in Mumsnet and get onto the site.

If I'm really lucky, I'll then be able to log on.

I then get logged out again after five minutes.

Rinse and repeat Hmm

I continue to be unable to use talk on my Nokia Lumia windows phone. I go to the Mumsnet home page, press talk, get the 'welcome to mumsnet' pop up box but when I tap log in, join or active conversations, nothing happens. If I google the catergory I want like Relationships, I can see the thread list but cant open the threads. On my tablet now but Mumsnetting on my mobile is one of life's pleasures! Problem started last weekend.

EcclefechanTart · 24/09/2015 21:16

I get this! Very small text on the screen and a bar of white space down the right hand side. I'm on Safari on the ipad.

Pointlessfan · 24/09/2015 21:20

I haven't been able to use the mobile or desktop site from my phone for about a week. I can see active thread but cannot click on any. I have a Nokia Lumia Windows phone, no probs with any other websites.

Hi all,

We're really sorry you're experiencing so many annoying glitches with the site. You may have spotted several other threads currently running in Site Stuff with MNers complaining about similar issues.

Our Tech team are doing their best to straighten everything out, but in the meantime they're asking us to encourage everyone to clear the cache on whichever device you're using.

There's info on how to clear your cache on different browsers (including for mobile devices) here.

Hopefully this will help at least some of you. Flowers

RingDownRingUp - thanks so much for posting those screenshots. Our Tech team are investigating this for you.

SealSong · 26/09/2015 23:10

It's actually pretty annoying to have to clear the cache just in order to use this website. This advice has been given repeatedly in recent weeks.
Clearing the cache means that I lose all the passwords for the sites I use. It's crap.
Honestly MN is by far the most problem ridden website that I have ever used. Why is this MNHQ?
What causes such frequent technical problems (deliberate attacks from others aside). Is it the size of the talk boards or what?

Pedestriana · 26/09/2015 23:12

I'm not seeing weird fonts but my computer keeps popping up messages telling me that it is running a scrip that needs debugging. I opt for 'stop running this script' and 'do t ask me again' but then it does it again, with a different script. I think its a javascript from a quick google.

I'm using Firefox.

ouryve · 26/09/2015 23:16

What's broken here?

Is it jobs?

I am having to clear the cache out every 20 or so minutes. I can also only get on by typing 'mumsnet' into the Google search box.

I seem to have lost the 'threads I'm watching.' When I post I get the green strapline saying the thread has been added to my watch list. So 'Threads I'm Watching' is the same as 'tio.'

diddl · 27/09/2015 17:27

Ye Gods it's hard work today!

I've cleared the cache more than once.

Sometimes a blank page, sometimes it times out!!

What's causing it?

herderofcats · 27/09/2015 17:33

It's fine for me on the mobile site, in case it helps tech.
S4, native browser.

magimedi · 27/09/2015 17:52

Just taken me about 8 tries to log in.

Firefox & desktop.

And every time I leave the internet my cache automatically clears. I've always had it set like that as a security thing.

So I have to log in each time - but it doesn't (usually) take long. And not keen on being permanently logged in to anywhere - don't know if I'm being daft or not?

bookbook · 27/09/2015 19:55

I have been having trouble the last few days - I also try to log in, and nothing happens. Had time out messages. Sometimes I can log in , sometimes not - it is taking 4 or 5 attempts minimum. And I can have logged in, move pages, and I am logged out. On Chrome and Macbook

emotionsecho · 27/09/2015 20:03

I was logged out of the mobile site last night for no reason whatsoever, it was slow, glitchy, kept getting weird error messages when clicking next page whilst in a thread - Samsung Tablet Google Chrome.

Tonight on Laptop, just had blank pages when clicking on next page or Active had to close the tab completely and reload. Google Chrome.

emotionsecho · 27/09/2015 20:05

Also had 504 Bad Gateway error message on Laptop.

hiddenhome2 · 27/09/2015 22:42

Today's fun activity is:

Trying to log on.

It's taken me around half an hour to get this far.

Who knows how long it'll last before being kicked out though Confused

readyforflame · 27/09/2015 22:49

I name changed earlier today - and now I can't change back. Every time I click on the my account link I get connecting followed by 504 bad gateway error. I have made 5 or 6 attempts over the last 5 hrs... rest of site seems to be working ok -just reading, clicking on links etc.... yet to see if it will let me post though!

hiddenhome2 · 27/09/2015 23:20

The site is getting worse. What the heck is going on?

OP posts:
Blodss · 27/09/2015 23:30

I cleared cache and cookies two days ago as instructed but this is a new thing that has started today. I keep getting 502 gateway timeout when trying to access anything. Grrrrr!
