I can't seem to email them, it won't let me, keeps telling me that there is an error. And I need to speak to someone urgently.

that is the problem with an open forum - anyone can read it. And once you get comfortable you forget it is open and post stuff that maybe you don't really want to be read by all and sundry.

I hope your "stalker" is not too distructive. And that you can still benefit from MN - don't let them scare you away.

lulumama · 27/10/2006 13:46

sorry you are upset...i was having a chat with soemone last night, and at the end realised i had given away my place of birth, where my parents live, where i went to school, where i live now and other stuff that would make me very identifiable!!!! blushingly clicked the report post button......an the posts were deleted within moments! MNHQ will sort & delete the whole thread if necc.......poor you...

helpmequick · 27/10/2006 13:47

Well, they are probably reading this now. But she reckons she has printed them off and is going to give them to dp and other people.

covenoveneer · 27/10/2006 13:48

Why would someone do that. Sounds like a nasty piece of work. Sorry you are going through this HMC.

throckenholt · 27/10/2006 13:48

have you said anything that you are ashamed of ?

scatterbrain · 27/10/2006 13:48

Deny everything - she cannot PROVE that it really is you ! Could all be a huge coincidence !

Good Luck x

hunkermunker · 27/10/2006 13:48

God, that's vile.

I'm know that people I know read my posts. I do temper what I post sometimes because of it.

helpmequick · 27/10/2006 13:48

They must be able to log into my registration bit because they knew old stuff and new stuff.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 27/10/2006 13:49

print them off? blimey - nasty

scatterbrain · 27/10/2006 13:49

Forgot to say - what a total bitch - the sort who would no doubt read your diary - she should be very very ashamed of herself !

zippitippitoes · 27/10/2006 13:51

you are unlucky to know this person..how sad are they to do that

I do make judicious use of the chat threads as they are deleted from the site

throckenholt · 27/10/2006 13:51

could she have got hold of your password ? Make sure you change it quick.

lulumama · 27/10/2006 13:53

if that is the case....can she not be barred from MN if she is using it maliciously? and hacking into someones identity? especially if she is going to use it to threaten someones relationships?

Marina · 27/10/2006 13:54

You poor thing, how horrible for you HMQ
Only a very disturbed or wicked person would do such a thing

Greensleeves · 27/10/2006 13:55

I was almost on here by a particularly vicious family member (someone else told her I was on here), it was very frightening and intrusive, I was really upset. Sorry this has happened to you HMQ , glad you got it sorted out.

MNHQ wouldn't delete all my messages, they said it "made a nonsense of the boards" to delete all posts by a poster. I had to trawl through months and months of individual ones and report all the ones that contained "sensitive information".

Greensleeves · 27/10/2006 13:55

almost outed on here, I mean.

essbee · 27/10/2006 13:56

Message withdrawn

Marina · 27/10/2006 13:56

lulu, anyone can read (and start guessing/stalking if they are so inclined I suppose) but hacking in would require membership I would have thought, so hopefully MNHQ can look into this as a separate issue.
VERY old Mners have a default password that is guessable, but they did tell us to change it.
What rotten luck.

runkid · 27/10/2006 14:04

There are some very nasty people about why would anyone want to do this.Really feel for you HMQ

helpmequick · 27/10/2006 14:04

OP posts:
mascaraohara · 27/10/2006 14:06

helpmequick · 27/10/2006 14:07

OP posts:
Marina · 27/10/2006 14:08

covenoveneer · 27/10/2006 14:08

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 27/10/2006 14:08
