marina, i missed it but saw it trailed. eric was supporting someone, probably squeeze (still one of my favourites, I'm so bloody sentimental)

puddle, you must've read my mind...teardrops were the 2nd band i saw, i think thompson twins were supporting them. echo & bunnymen - saw them a couple of years later in manchester. a friend of mine saw the blooody lot in wigan one wet sunday (joy div included, i think)

Am very glad I didn't fulfill my ambition of marrying Julian Cope though - not sure I could cope (ha!) with his current garb and enthusiasm for sacred mounds.....
