Can this be made 'against Talk Guidelines' please? Where the spelling error is pointed out but everyone knew full well what was meant?

I only did this once the other day when someone was being really judgy about something dull that did not matter, and I corrected her spelling in retaliation.

I was making a point.

Is that alright?

I think most of the people on mumsnet who correct other people's spelling do so for the same reason Rooners. It's passive aggressive and unproductive. There are more effective ways to make your point.
