I made this today at 7 30 and added a banana to the sponge and honey for the sauce. DS had been ill and so needed indulging. We ate it for breakfast watching Cbeebies. What luxury!

Shove in some cocoa with the flour and put chocolate spread at the bottom of the bowl instead of syrup.

My DC were desperate to make a cake this morning. Due to sleep deprivation I was not at all keen.

How much cocoa powder would you put in to make a chocolate version? Also has anyone got a good chocolate custard recipe to go with it?
