Come and have a squizz at our new video, in which the lovely RebeccaMumsnet shows us how to make a super-scrummy, three-minute (yes!) syrupy sponge pudding from the new Mumsnet cook book, Top Bananas.

Do like it if you, um, like it - and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel; we've lots more Mumsnet life hacks coming soon, and plenty of delicious family food how-tos in the pipeline...

I made this today at 7 30 and added a banana to the sponge and honey for the sauce. DS had been ill and so needed indulging. We ate it for breakfast watching Cbeebies. What luxury!

Shove in some cocoa with the flour and put chocolate spread at the bottom of the bowl instead of syrup.

My DC were desperate to make a cake this morning. Due to sleep deprivation I was not at all keen.
This solved the problem nicely!'

Made it with blueberries! Kids loved it.

How much cocoa powder would you put in to make a chocolate version? Also has anyone got a good chocolate custard recipe to go with it?

Do you think you could use cling film instead of a plate?
