I would like to state the following:

I apologise profusely to:

  • ;
  • her followers, friends, family, legal team;
  • the listeners of the Jeremy Vine Show;
  • the viewers of Channel 4, Channel 5, BBC 1 and ITV News;
  • the readers of the Independent, the Telegraph, the Guardian, the Daily Mail (maybe), the Gulf Times, the Metro and the Evening Standard;
  • all new mothers

for suggesting that she/they strap their babies to weapons of mass destruction or are involved in any way with the situation in Israel/Lebanon. I have read her book many times and can confirm that this IS NOT suggested as part of

No I didn't have to consult a lawyer

But I thought that Mark Stephens did a good job of putting the quote into perspective when Clive Anderson started saying "Well if she straps babies to rockets then I wouldn't want her to look after my children" in a serious voice

Morning Paper, I pissed myself laughing at your apology, it was hilarious! I'm so sorry that you are all having to go through this.

Mascaraohara · 08/08/2006 17:15

MP you are firing on all cylinders these last few days!

piglit · 08/08/2006 17:19

In all seriousness I hope you are doing ok morningpaper. Just remember - today's news, tomorrow's fish and chip wrapper etc etc.

Whizzz · 08/08/2006 17:22

Oh don't mention fish !

SenoraPostrophe · 08/08/2006 17:22

mp.

I meant to say earlier actually that when I said something about bad taste I didn't mean it was bad taste, just that that was the only real criticism that could potetially be made of it. It wasn't immature.

who is jeremy vine anyway?

morningpaper · 08/08/2006 17:34

Jeremy Vine ... I think he does an offensive programme about cars on BBC2?

It WAS bad taste, I wouldn't argue with that!

I am coping fine btw - being Childcare Guru's No. 1 Public Enemy has taken my mind off my mastitis!

Frankly it's a dream come true

morningpaper · 08/08/2006 17:48

please not the anals of history

not without a LOT of vaseline

OP posts:
fairyjay · 08/08/2006 17:50

But the vaseline could cause someone to slip of the rocket

piglit · 08/08/2006 17:50

If it's anals you want you need to go to the other thread.

I do think that Jeremy Vine is a complete idiot (My opinion therefore not libellous. Besides it's true). Dh has banned him from our home because he's so awful.

hulababy · 08/08/2006 17:56

Mp's quote must surely win the MN Quote of 2006. It's classic - and I missed it first time round.

WorldFamousAuthor · 08/08/2006 18:03

mp - you are hysterical

and please stop apologising!

zippitippitoes · 08/08/2006 18:04

Jeremy vine's show was done by Clive Andersen today

piglit · 08/08/2006 18:07

I've seen Clive Anderson do his stuff in St Albans crown court. He's very short.

ocd · 08/08/2006 18:08

adn baldy

hunkermunker · 08/08/2006 18:11

MP, you're a comedy genius.

Hope your norks are less glow/throbby.

lucy5 · 08/08/2006 18:29

heheheheheh enough said!

wartybosoms · 08/08/2006 18:33

clive anderson was shit in Jeremy's place

Agentxxx · 08/08/2006 18:33

MP I salute your humour. Mumsnet is getting a great deal of support over this on other forums. However I do need to correct you on who Jeremy Vine is:

Jeremy Vine

Jeremy Clarkson (presenter of the "offensive car program" which we quite like in our house, sorry! )

morningpaper · 08/08/2006 18:34

Oh I like him more

he's cleverer
