It is with great regret that we have to ask members to refrain from any further discussion of Gina Ford, her methods or her books on the site. To find out why click here. We'd be very grateful if members could report any mentions of Gina Ford using the "contact Mumsnet" facility (the little red exclamation mark to the right of each posting). Many thanks. MNHQ. "

Never seen it before.

Twinset, I'm about to request your lovely letter to be deleted as you forgot to remove the name of that who must not be named, could you please post it again with ammends?

MrsFogi · 07/08/2006 17:24

I will be voting with my feet and will not be buying any books published by Vermilion until my right to freedom of expression is no longer threatened by one of their authors or until they sever all ties with such author[s]. I'll be emailing to let them know.

Chandra · 07/08/2006 17:24

somebody was faster than me...

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 07/08/2006 17:25

MARS

I clicked on your line and my virus thingy decided to shut my whole wotsit down. Dont know whether it was the site or my doozy PC but thought Id just say.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 07/08/2006 17:25

link

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 07/08/2006 17:26

Tamba - it just crashed my PC too [frown]

MrsFogi · 07/08/2006 17:29

In fact, Vermillion is owned by Random House publishing so I will not be buying anything published by them or their subsidiaries (Ebury Press, Rider, Time Out and Vermillion) and I will be emailing them to let them know + emailing authors who they publish.

SaintGeorge · 07/08/2006 17:29

Wouldn't worry about it. Link is to a press site that hosts newspapers but the relevant edition of the Evening Standard isn't online yet anyway.

dilEmma · 07/08/2006 17:38

Her PR is [email protected]

I think she should be told! Or maybe she advised her client to take this strategically brilliant course of action?

mummydear · 07/08/2006 17:41

a bit ironic that millions of parents have given nobody the finacial power to do this. Parents who have given nobody the money are now being punished .

Would love to be a fly on a lawyers office wall at the moment.

Caribbeanqueen · 07/08/2006 17:44

Just come to this and haven't got time to read it all.

Is there anything that I can do that hasn't been done yet?

Has anyone contacted Jeremy Vine's Radio 2 programme?

twinsetandpearls · 07/08/2006 17:44

ooops {blush} Chandra it has been sent via the They work for you website so I don't think I have another copy.

twinsetandpearls · 07/08/2006 17:45

And I tried so hard to make it non libellous and well mannered as well!

MrsRichardHammond · 07/08/2006 17:46

have emailed richard and judy

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 07/08/2006 17:46

is it really in the standard? got it infront of me and can't find anything.

LIZS · 07/08/2006 17:47

mummydear agree. Perhaps it is also a case of becoming a victim of one's own "success". For some any publicity is better than no publicity but not always apparently.

If anyone has done him, to the list please!

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 17:48

All of this is seriously warming my heart.

And making me utterly proud to be part of MN.

Me thinks our power was a dodge underestimated!

MrsRichardHammond · 07/08/2006 17:50

I, and a few others who've come over, weren't members until we heard all this and was posted on bounty so thanks nobody for leading us to this great site!

MarsLady · 07/08/2006 17:50

sorry about that Tamba. It happened to me too, but I didn't connect it at the time. Was chasing DTs and thinking of my essay and trying to help someone with b/fing. Sigh.............

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 07/08/2006 17:51

Ah Mars, a snapshot into the life on an average MNetter! LOL!

mummydear · 07/08/2006 17:51

Do you think booksales of parenting guides have slumped recently then? Because no doubt when this hits the media and people get to hear about the various parenting guides , newbie parents will go out and buy it to see what the fuss is all about. Hence fuelling more money !

very little we can do about that, very sad

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 07/08/2006 17:52

amazing isn't it GDG - we can debate and argue 'til the cows come home - but when we want to can come together brilliantly.
