"Add a Message

It is with great regret that we have to ask members to refrain from any further discussion of Gina Ford, her methods or her books on the site. To find out why click here. We'd be very grateful if members could report any mentions of Gina Ford using the "contact Mumsnet" facility (the little red exclamation mark to the right of each posting). Many thanks. MNHQ. "

Never seen it before.

have contacted Tanya Byron - it might help if a few of us all do the same - let people see the strength of feeling.

MrsRichardHammond · 07/08/2006 15:09

Bloody housework will have to wait lol

how about contacting the sponsors of this site and ask for their support?

Tex111 · 07/08/2006 15:10

Have emailed the NY Times, USA Today and the Today show in the States. I think the US media will be interested in the freedom of speech issue and will hopefully pick up the story.

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 07/08/2006 15:10

piglit · 07/08/2006 15:11

One of the best things is that no one's lawyers will be spending all day (and night) checking every parenting website to see what's being said (and probably contacting the publications listed below). This will be costing no one tens of thousands of pounds.

Keep it up....

MrsRichardHammond · 07/08/2006 15:12

MrsHammond, I think that's a good idea about doing a standardised email. Not sure about the sponsors of this site, would think it would be best to ask MNHQ first?

Will update list in a bit (my poor kids today!)

JoshuaandChloesmummy · 07/08/2006 15:24

Tex111

Ive emailed John Grogan, he works for a national newpaper in America, and wrote the book 'Marley and me'.

He may be able to help. Ive emailed him a few times before.

Beauregard · 07/08/2006 15:24

Internet radio worth a go as well.

MrsBadger · 07/08/2006 15:24

I caught the appearance of the caveat and the beginning of this thread last night, and went to bed feeling sick and strangely betrayed.

Revisiting it I am heartened to see the (generally) moderate and considered immediate responses, and thrilled to see how hard people are fighting to get the issue wider coverage. I'll be calling in all the contacts I can lay my hands on, not only journalistic ones in pursuit of free speech, but also scientific contacts, including some people who've published peer-reviewed papers about the, um, area.

for MN but that we're working on it

FanjoFanjoWhosGotTheFanjo · 07/08/2006 15:25

Am PMSL at lawyer's letter, particularly last-quoted post.

yeahinaminute · 07/08/2006 15:26

This lacks all natural justice ...

However ... the old adage should remain ..

"Whilst I may not agree with what you say I will defend your right to say it"

And that should cut BOTH ways

SaintGeorge · 07/08/2006 15:28

Oops, just seen Jessajams earlier post.
