I Have To Ask: Do you guys have a change management system *at all*?

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 15:50

Because every time you do something, the site goes nuts, the people go nuts with it.

One little post announcing all changes before you make them? Would go a long way. Surely you guys must see that?!?!

Or a testing process? It's getting embarrassing now

Beehatch · 10/09/2013 16:49

Here, here

Or is it Hear, Hear

Or Hear, here even

Well, you get the picture Blush

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 16:50

Yes. In short. We'd like it you stopped acting like you own the place, please. Grin

nickelbabe · 10/09/2013 16:50

it's hear hear.

they've tried that before, posting on site stuff.

i know what would be better: only making changes we can't see

Chubfuddler · 10/09/2013 16:50

Ingrates. It is free you know. And if they took the sure down for hours and hours to implement changes my god the whining there would be.

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 16:51

Although I do strongly agree with what Jaffa said.

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 16:52

Chub.... We all go over to the FB site to whinge, so tbf that doesn't bother them at all

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 16:53

It's got nothing to do with owning the site. I have no problem with change. I have a problem with badly implemented and not announced change, mostly because of the 1000000s of threads that happen because of it.

I am also all for improving the site. But I swear MN is like Microsoft. No QC and no CM.

Tee, I was only teasing Thanks

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 16:58

Who said I was talking to you honey? Hmm You're not the only one who said something like that.

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 17:49

I was just about to come on here and ask nicely if anyone on the desktop site keeps getting a bigger add banner down the side.

But instead I'm going to Hmm Hmm back at Tee

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 17:51

I do not have a bigger ad banner down the RHS.

Hmm Fun, isn't it?

OP posts:
KellyHopter · 10/09/2013 17:53

I don't see the problem myself. Is it really that big a deal?

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 17:55

I see your Hmm

And raise you

Hmm Hmm Hmm

It's fine on the desktop, it goes sqiffy on the tablet when its running sloooooow.

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 17:55

According to 90% of the users it's a huge deal. Huge. Gigantic. Humongous.

I'm working on a distraction-technique-bad-news-hiding-conspiracy theory here...

HoneyDragon · 10/09/2013 17:57

I'm currently in the mildly baffled camp.

I like the zombie thread pictures though.

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 10/09/2013 17:58

I have no idea whats going on. I keep seeing Please Wait when I post. I dont want to wait!

Tee while I'm here is ut tonight or Wednesday that's Twitter Night? I was a day late last week Grin

purrpurr · 10/09/2013 18:00

Oh howay. I don't want Mumsnet having to go through the service life cycle of the ITIL framework or similar. Anyway, I've done some of my best work on the hop without telling anyone .

I did also introduce an infinite loop that killed a vital system for 10. Hours.

... Yeah, maybe some change management would be a good thing. Personally I'd like to see a few more threads saying thanks, rather than whining. Changes that may look aesthetically simple can often be bonkers hard to implement. More cake for the tech folk is required.

K8Middleton · 10/09/2013 18:01

That's just you SP. A bit of thinking time Wink Grin

Chubfuddler · 10/09/2013 18:02

Apart from ops having a grey tinge mobile on my iPhone is completely fine.

Tee2072 · 10/09/2013 18:10

SP it's tomorrow.

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 10/09/2013 18:13

Cheers!

I think MNHQ are giving me time to think 'do I really want to post that'

Is that just something for me Grin

K8Middleton · 10/09/2013 18:30

I there's a few posters who need a "did you really mean to sound such a massive twat?" helpful hint.

Not saying that's you SP yup, you're ok.
