Why am I getting an advert with buttocks in my face on mn?

I was just looking at a parenting thread and there was a ridiculous advert alternating between fat person in cowering position and buttocks in my face advertising some kind of weight loss. Naturally I did not click on it to find out what kind of rubbish it was, but I am APPALLED to see such crap on mn. I see it enough on fb. They are clearly 2 Completely different women, and I resent the constant implication that if I am fat I need to be doing something to undergo some kind of radical transformation.

If I continue to see such crap on here I will be flouncing.

Hi there Fraxinus - so sorry to hear about this. Arse adverts really isn't what Mumsnet is about.

Can you you recall where you saw it - was it in the parenting topic? Or even better, do you think you could get a screenshot of it? Once we know what the advert looks like, we can look into removing it.

If anyone ever sees a naff advert on MN, the best thing to do is grab a screen shot and send it to us, then we can deal with it.

Sorry again about the advert!

Sorry about the naff ads Rooners - we will chase this up!

We're just double checking how those particular ads work, and will get back to you with an answer asap.

Hi Fraxinus,
We are signed up to an ad exchange and they auto-supply ads to certain pages. We have blocked quite a few categories which we don't think are appropriate for MN, including weight loss as it happens, but sometimes the odd one slips through (I guess because they manage to get it categorised as something else - I am guessing but maybe health). When we, or most usually you, spot these we can block individual ads by their URL, which we are always happy to do. Hope that clarifies - thanks for raising it and apologies for the buttocks.

The buttocks have gorn - or so we are told.

Anyone seen any buttocks of late? Gawd knows I haven't

RowanMumsnet · 20/09/2013 16:08

Oh dear - we're sorry. Do send us the screenshots and we'll get on it.

KateSMumsnet · 21/09/2013 13:16

Please do keep us abreast (or abuttock) of any inappropriate ads, and we'll do our best to nix them.
