If you have the misfortune to land on their redirection page something TERRIBLE happens.

Along with the usual apology that you've been directed to a page that no longer exists, they have a pithy messages that states

You found it! We've been looking for that biscuit everywhere ...

And then next to it, next to it

A picture of a partially eaten

JAFFA CAKE Angry

Honestly, seriously? Do you know nothing?

It's a cake! Cake. Not biscuit. It's a cake. Angry

How could you?

I am clearly so NBU it hurts. I DEMAND a picture of a Jammy Dodger with haste.

But how do you get to those pages? I've never seen them on MN at all.

ItsYoniYappy · 21/04/2013 20:46

I detest Jaffa cakes. You now get Jaffa cake muffins.

I was led to this page this week. I'm sure I got a jammy dodger.

If someone does a wrong link you get it.

CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 21/04/2013 21:00

I have fucking Jaffa cakes in my coat pocket!

HoneyDragon · 21/04/2013 21:05

Why?

OP posts:
CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 21/04/2013 21:10

:)

I don't really. I just always wanted to say that after seeing it on spaced years ago!

And I agree with you anyway. They are most certainly cakes!

HoneyDragon · 21/04/2013 21:24

Zombie is of course correct.
HMRC weighed up the evidence - see here: www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/vfoodmanual/vfood6260.htm

and eventually decided that McVitie's could class them as biscuits.

HoneyDragon · 21/04/2013 23:30

They're not biscuits aaaaaaafgh! Rage! Aaaargh Angry

OP posts:
HazeltheMcWitch · 22/04/2013 00:32

Oh, fuck. I meant and eventually decided that McVitie's could class them as CAKES.

Jaffa Cakes are cakes because they go hard

Pringles were officially declared not to be crisps in 2008 as they don't contain enough potato but the courts changed their mind in 2009 and now they are Confused

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN · 22/04/2013 13:20

:head tilt: Do you have ishoos with biscuit / cake classification, Honey?

What about Yorkshire puddings and Kendal mint cake?

FanjoPaterson · 22/04/2013 13:28

I have a garibaldi. Erkh, dead fly pie

MNHQ, if you don't want them jaffas, please do pass them here.m

Ta mucky.

HoneyDragon · 22/04/2013 13:29

Yorkshire pudding can be served with syrup or cream.

And Kendal Mint Cake shares more resemblance to cake than owt else.

There is no funking logic in declaring a Jaffa cake a biscuit ... It's a fucking bastard cake.

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 22/04/2013 13:30

Fucking. Stoopid autocorrect.

OP posts:
FanjoPaterson · 22/04/2013 13:33

Why the Jesus H Christ would you ruin a Yorkshire pud with friffing syrup or cream? Why? WHY? WHY?

SconeInSixtySeconds · 22/04/2013 13:34

fanjo you eat one with gravy first... Then for pud it's Yorkshire pud again!

Fenton · 22/04/2013 13:52

It is a biscuit..

...shaped and sized cake

TSSDNCOP · 22/04/2013 14:03

I just bought a pack in Sainsbo.

They were RIGHT UNDER a banner sign saying "BISCUITS"

I thought of you all exploding with The Rage.

Then I came home and ate them with my Brew.

BISCUIT.BISCUIT.BISCUIT!!!

TSSDNCOP · 22/04/2013 14:04

Biscuit is a very funny word Grin

SarahMumsnet · 22/04/2013 14:06

Ahem! You're all quite right, and we are covered in shame and crumbs

Rest assured that the offending item is being removed, even as we speak Grin
