To log in (I've got fat fingers and am on my IPad) and it says MN aren't accepting any new registrations?

Sorry, also saw a thread in chat about the same thing so it wasn't just me. I logged in afterwards (obviously).

I think they've bolted the doors for a bit because of the recent media coverage. It tends to result in lots of trolls joining up to be tosspots.

So we've got a lock in. Grin

RebeccaMumsnet · 11/04/2013 10:18

Mwhahaha - yes you're all locked in.

Not really Grin

ellajayne · 11/04/2013 10:27

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2013 17:19

Cool. Does this mean if they aren't letting anyone in no one can get out? Have they disabled the big bad banning finger? Can I misbehave nd not get sent away?

Cool Grin

Jux · 11/04/2013 17:27

Can I put the jukebox on?

HelenYoniSchmoniMumsnet · 11/04/2013 18:02

BadgersRetreat · 11/04/2013 18:36

oooh a lock in... can we smoke..?!

HarrietSchulenberg · 11/04/2013 18:46

Is it like Sean of the Dead? Are we in The Winchester?

FruOla · 11/04/2013 19:04

Aw, HelenMNHQ, please stay with us - never mind that Rebecca not inviting you [humph]

We're in a 'virtual Winchester/White Hart', we have a jukebox, kebabs, gin and tonics, wine, cigs (yes, Badgers, I smoke too!), Doritos and dips ..... and a Mariachi band to keep us entertained during the lock-in. Grin

YoniWhenILaugh · 11/04/2013 19:46

ooh ta. I'll bum a cig. I've quit but I don't think virtual smokes count. Grin

Such, such fond memories of the lock ins.

You knew you'd made it when the landlord would lock up with you still in there.

Jux · 11/04/2013 21:08

I remember the mornings after the lock-ins better than the lock-ins themselves. (Except someone always put 'Pearl's a bloody singer' on the jukebox; grrrrr, if I never hear that song again it'll be too soon.)

catsrus · 11/04/2013 21:13

I was never with the cool gang, never part of a lock-in, until now
thanks MNHQ Thanks

YoniWankEnobi · 11/04/2013 22:23

I was once locked in school (the whole school was) in a snowstorm thingamajig. Slept there overnight until it got cleared in the morning. The teachers borrowed cigarettes of all of us sixth formers and then shared a drink with all of us (the younger ones didn't get a look in, obvs). Not the best example but the lock in was great!

YoniWankEnobi · 11/04/2013 22:23

Oh, but I quit so I can't smoke now...Jaffa cakes only Sad

tigerdriverII · 11/04/2013 22:26

You don't have lock ins nowadays with the bloomin liberal licensing laws. I love a decent lock in. Haven't had one for years. Count me in!

Jux · 12/04/2013 14:15

You need to live round here where most of the pubs are only licenced until midnight, tigerdriver. We have lock-ins (but don't tell....)

tigerdriverII · 12/04/2013 20:29

Well, tbh the other thing is that I'm a bit old for lock ins. I like to be settled down with a peppermint tea and a good crime novel by about 11.

Cue Mary Hopkins: those were the days.....
