A lot of the time I and other posters are using the [thanks] emoticon to express something other than thanks - e.g. sympathy/condolences - and it seems both wrong and insensitive to type [thanks]. I know the outcome is the same, but surely it would be better/easier (and probably more intuitive) for us to be able to type [flowers] instead? [thanks]
