Annoying gap/Wowcher

TiggyD · 04/02/2013 06:48

On some threads I get a huuuuuuge gap between the thread title and the first post. There is also a one line advert for wowcher just above the first post. Is it just an annoying ad not working or my problem?

OP posts:

Yep, I've got chrome on a mac

twolittlemonkeys · 04/02/2013 09:36

Yep what's that about? It's been bugging me today! (I'm on a laptop, using Opera) The ads down the side are bad enough, but big ads under the thread title might be enough to push me over the edge today

HazeltheMcWitch · 04/02/2013 09:38

(thanks RedJeans. And everybodysang, who psychically answered question before I'd even posed it!)

caramelwaffle · 04/02/2013 09:39

Me also.

Did an extensive test and found it only did it on "chat" threads for me.

RedJeans · 04/02/2013 09:43

No problem! Honestly, couldn't recommend AdBlock enough, absolutely changed my experience of the internet completely for the better, haha! Never realised quite how annoying adverts were before. And it blocks popups too

KateSMumsnet · 04/02/2013 09:53

Sorry guys, we're on it.

Lifeisontheup · 04/02/2013 09:55

Please make it go away, otherwise I might have to do my essay. Grin

AnyFucker · 04/02/2013 09:56

same here, on threads I started

RandallPinkFloyd · 04/02/2013 09:56

Just wanted to say that I use Adblock on my lap top too but I turn it off to use MN.

I like MN very much want them to stay in business. If that means having a few adverts on my screen and clicking the odd one now and then I think it's a pretty small price to pay.

RandallPinkFloyd · 04/02/2013 09:58

I like MN very much and* want them to stay in business - is how that ^^ should read.

Ah good. I was going to come and have a good ol' whinge about this, but MNHQ are onto it.

Henceforth I shall remember Wowcher as the brand that fucked up MN. I'm sure they'll be happy to know that Grin

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 04/02/2013 10:19

And me. I have adblocker installed but it's not catching this one, it's driving me mad. Google Chrome here.

BillericayDickie · 04/02/2013 10:24
