Messages are going through, but multiply and I am getting a garbled 'null' message. This is on my phone and the desktop site.

Not resorting to the paper bags yet, then?

IamtheZombie · 01/11/2012 11:45

Zombie got that yesterday. When she read the 'error' message and saw that it said "succeeded", she went to her outbox. The message was there so she assumed all was well. And, it was as she got a reply about 20 minutes later.

She's coming to see it as another of MN's loveable little foibles.

Yes, just got that garbled 'success' message.

Checking my 'sent' mail on a different PC to see if it is logged as having gone.

Tech · 01/11/2012 13:50

Hi, I presume this is happening only intermittently? (i.e. the getting the success message rather than the proper page.) I've just sent a bunch of PMs and they all appeared to go OK. If you are affected, does the error happen every time, or just once in a while? What browser are you on? Are you using mobile or desktop version of the site? Thanks much and sorry for the questions....

It's only when clicking from a thread though - from the inbox, they send as normal.

tribpot · 01/11/2012 14:05

Yup, have only had the problem when clicking on the 'Message poster' link from a thread.

zillyzilly · 01/11/2012 14:08

Yes, use the inbox.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/11/2012 07:24

Still playing silly buggers, if you go through Message Poster you get

{"succeeded":true,"s2":null,"s1":null,"errorMsg":"","successMsg":"","retCode":0,"s9":null,"obj":null,"s7":null,"s8":null,"s5":null,"s6":null,"s3":null,"s4":null,"competition":"n"}

So folk press send loads of times Smile

Seems OK if you use a new message.
Tech Is there any update on this?

Tech · 04/11/2012 14:41

Hi, we think this should be working correctly now. Sorry about the hassle...

tribpot · 04/11/2012 14:52

Not working here - Chrome on OS 10.7.5

Groan... We'll have a look.

Tech · 04/11/2012 15:31

Strange, it seems to be working OK for me. Hmm. Can you let me know at what point you get the error string thing. Is it on pressing "send?" and only if you start from "message poster" on a thread? That was the original reported problem. You might try clearing your browser cache to force a full reload.

Tech · 04/11/2012 15:31

Thanks again by the way

tribpot · 04/11/2012 15:43

No error reported when using Safari (new session, had to log in again), even if sending from 'Message Poster' on a thread, which is where I was seeing the problem yesterday.

Tech · 04/11/2012 16:12

Oh yes, if you click "Message poster" on a page that was already on your screen before we did the fix it will not work correctly. But if you refresh the page and then do message poster it should be OK.
