Bookmarks have gone - anyone else?

They aren't there when I hover to set them any more. I've checked 'customise' and it's still selected.

Could it be a glitch? I saw a thread a few days ago with the same problem...

I've got them showing automatically on the mobile site on my phone; this is just on the PC.

Zombie is doing another test. She is using a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. She has Mumsnet open in three different browsers.

In Firefox the bookmarks are there and working.

In Chrome the bookmarks are there and working.

In IE the bookmarks are missing.

She really thinks this is an IE issue.

Maybe we should pick up some bagels and lox and a few cups of coffee and take them to Tech. It's early in the morning in Brooklyn. Grin

LineRunner · 27/09/2012 13:56

I've got that too, Lemarche. I call it the Codey-Liney Thing.

CouthyMowWearingOrange · 27/09/2012 15:33

My bookmarks have gone too, for once I am on the laptop on the normal site. Using IE9, but wouldn't have a clue what a cache even is, much less how to clear one...

Bah, disappeared again today. I'm switching to Firefox!

Grin at 'Codey-Liney Thing'. Sounds about right.

dottyspotty2 · 27/09/2012 19:55

i'm now on google working fine pm's are working as well

Tech · 27/09/2012 23:57

Hi, I've just fired up IE9, and now I too have no bookmarks. Hmmm. We'll investigate.

LineRunner · 28/09/2012 00:03

IE9 is a really dodgy postcode on the Isle of Man.

WingDefence · 28/09/2012 09:37

Hi Tech - thanks for coming onto this thread.

I've come onto the site three times so far this morning and I only started work at 9 and each time I've had to clear the cache to get bookmarks. It's getting a bit frustrating.

I'm not sure I'd be allowed to install another broswer on my work PC so I hope some solution is found!

Wing, if you're not sure if you can install a different browser you can download portable versions of Opera and Firefox to a usb drive and load it to your work pc from that.

qo · 28/09/2012 12:53

I had bookmark this morning, but now it's gone - I also went into customise to make sure it was all correct in there, which it is!

Thanks Nicolas. I've installed Chrome (the site looks a lot better on it which is an added bonus) and hopefully my IT dept won't come chasing after me with a big stick... Grin

I've installed chrome, not overly taken with it tbh but at least bookmarks are back!

Sidge · 28/09/2012 15:06

I have no bookmarks, using IE7.

ParsleyTheLioness · 28/09/2012 15:15

Ok MN techies have done that, not worked, and now I cannot use the message poster option either...

HelenMumsnet · 28/09/2012 15:50

ParsleyTheLioness · 28/09/2012 16:17
