I wish mnhq would ban landlord/tenant threads

and direct people to a more suitable resource where they won't get told things which are clearly made up then presented as fact? It helps no-one to have idiots muddying the waters in already complicated situations.

Hello.

We hope everyone already knows that no one has "expert" status on Mumsnet. This is a site for peer-to-peer, rather than expert, advice.

Obviously, there are loads of people on here who do know mightily whereof they speak but this is the internet and there is no way you can know for sure who is posting genuinely brilliant advice and who is posting made-up twaddle from their student bedsit in Peckham.

We do have a disclaimer on all our legal/money/health threads, making it clear that we do not check anyone's qualifications and that you should seek RL advice and expertise on all serious matters.
