Mintyy, I think you are supposed to get a warning, surely? I remember spats with another poster, now that you mention it, but it looked like six and two threes to me, and I don't think either were spoken to about it. To my knowledge.

I do remember TSC saying she'd had a temporary ban and was back under a good behaviour bond of some sort, it's not really that hard to imagine how she got banned (although I've missed the threads). It's harsh because I like her as a poster and I've never seen her make a wrong call when she calls another poster dodgy, officially it's against the rules though.

I guess there must be more to it than just bringing up history as there are lots of people who do that and don't get banned... not sure if this just shows inconsistency, in the same way some sock puppets get banned and some don't...

I want to know how come some people get all there posts deleted.... And so quickly! I was told they try not to do this as the threads don't make sense if many posts are deleted

I remember TSC posting about a temporary ban as well. I like her - she's straight up about everything.

I can't imagine MNHQ having a special set of rules for one poster - what would their motivation be? Really struggling to imagine that.

The sock puppet thing-I have read that you get banned if you are shit stirring. Plainly, if MNHQ think you are not shit shirring you aren't banned.

I also think constant threads which are really just thinly veiled attacks on one poster are really bad form.

I think they're just inconsistent and policing a big site, Miss. They're awfully cautious about trolls, because those posters might kick up a huge stink. Possibly they're less cautious about actual long-term MNers because, well, we're not quite so strange and - like Artex - won't make a fuss of it.

I mean, when the F4J lot were trolling feminism, they were really vocal about being banned, kept sneaking back and protesting, made adverts about MN ... they were scary and strange. You'd take more trouble to be absolutely beyond reproach banning someone who might be like that, I think.

I don't think it's deliberate, it's just to do with uneven responses. But they do seem unfair and I do think it needs sorting.

Posters have stated that they think this person has had special treatment. I was just wondering what would motivate MNHQ to treat her differently from anyone else and couldn't come up with anything.
