Following numerous requests for a name change competition with an Olympic theme we have decided to go ahead and start one even though we don't have a prize yet

For your chance to gain a podium place post with your new name below.

Don't forget to include your usual name in the post and we at MNHQ will come up with a shortlist early next week.

As ever the umpire referee judges' decision is final, any participants found to be illegal-drug taking or false-starting will be disqualified

We will then start a poll for you to pick your Gold, Silver and Bronze medallists who will bask in the Olympic glory when the winners are announced at the end of next week.

just found out there is an event called CanoeSprint in the Olympics. Wanted to use that, but my punning skills are too rusty. (what IS canoe sprint, anyway? Do they hoist the canoe on their shoulders and do a 100m dash?)
