Why have all the links in threads suddenly vanished? Or is it just me?

HMQE, gratifying though it is to think of Tech slaving away over a hot computer in the early hours of the morning in order to save MN from breaking, he actually lives in Florida - so our 4.54 am would have been his lunch time Grin

prettybird · 14/06/2012 08:15

At least the "clickability" now works again SmileSmile even if the whole web address plus the descriptor are now showing so it looks a bit messy Confused

Tech · 14/06/2012 08:31

I'm in London this week (blatant beg for sympathy.)

Tech · 14/06/2012 08:34

Sorry MadameP I thought links didn't work at all. Didn't realise it was only links to mn.

OlaRapaceFru · 14/06/2012 08:41

Blimey, Tech! In that case look at your Florida watch and award yourself a large, MN stylee gin Grin

CouthyMow · 14/06/2012 13:19

I'm having some other Weirdy Woo problems with the App, creepy brackets vanishing words, whole threads being in italics etc, bumping this thread as I know Tech has seen it, and may not have seen my thread yet!

HMQueenElizabeth · 14/06/2012 17:22

Florida!!! Envy

OlaRapaceFru · 14/06/2012 19:07

I bet he wishes he was back home in Florida at the moment, given our 'lovely British Summer weather'? Wink

Oooooh, I've just had a thought. Maybe Tech's come to MNHQ in London to fix their 'Bombes' (as suggested by GetOrf on the other thread about MN being broken - wonderful analogy, GO, Grin)

OlaRapaceFru · 14/06/2012 19:13

Tech <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=bletchley+park+bombe&hl=en&biw=1389&bih=737&gbv=2&tbm=isch&tbnid=IuLscCknkdB3ZM:&imgrefurl=www.expertreviews.co.uk/general/1282126/how-bletchley-park-broke-the-german-enigma-code&docid=96V8eB9v4Ph1SM&imgurl=photos.expertreviews.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_Expert_Reviews/dir_280/er_photo_140431_52.jpg&w=755&h=502&ei=kCjaT4zDNser8AOg3qn5AQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=446&vpy=315&dur=243&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=205&ty=94&sig=104794699034716058369&page=2&tbnh=166&tbnw=234&start=28&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:28,i:213" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">mending the 'Bombes' at MNHQ.
I can't see any sign of a fridge for the gin though Confused

Hi All, so right now then now then (channels Jimmy Savile as am in Leeds.) The apps should now be working correctly with apps. The old app should be showing the link text like it always did, but with the added bonus that links to threads work. The new app (testers only at this point) is showing links in it's stylee with the bit of the link visible in the text. Hope this is good for all.

How's about that then?

Tech · 15/06/2012 12:05

Oh my god I put an apostrophe in a possessive its in that message. I'll have to do the decent thing and resign at the very least.

Tech · 15/06/2012 12:07

What's the sketch (monty python? ripping yarns?) where people commit seemingly minor offences against manners and good breeding and one by one shoot themselves as it's the only decent thing left to do. I feel a bit like that. (continues to talk to self indefinitely.) I wonder if I could blame auto-correct?

prettybird · 15/06/2012 12:31

I did notice - but mentally blamed autocorrect with its assumption that all i-t-a are "it's" and not "its" Wink

prettybird · 15/06/2012 12:32

i-t-s Blush

Did I miss some response to the question over How's the Android App coming or was it avoided and I need to ask in a whole new thread

HelenMumsnet · 16/06/2012 23:49

@NetworkGuy

Did I miss some response to the question over How's the Android App coming or was it avoided and I need to ask in a whole new thread

I believe it's expected sometime this summer, NetworkGuy

NetworkGuy · 17/06/2012 00:52

Thanks Helen. You know there'll be no mercy if it has any bugs :)

(threatening, but in a gentle way!)

NetworkGuy · 17/06/2012 00:56

Helen - can your "quote" facility not let you edit the quoted text at all ?

"... avoided and I need ..." really doesn't look too good... (the fact the are shown, not acted on, for a start, but equally, the option surely should exist for you to only select a portion of the text to quote or delete the rest)

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 17/06/2012 23:59

Thanks Helen.
