So I am assuming tge new desktop button means I don't have to go to tge bottom of tge page to get out of mobile and into regular mn? If so its not working, I have hidden a thread by accident and can't get onto mymumsnet to unhide it.

Hi HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans
You don't have to go to MyMumsnet but you do need the desktop site. What device are you using?
RebeccaMumsnet · 08/05/2012 10:55
Will certainly look into it for you and see what can be done.

Hi Pascha, if you are on www.mumsnet.com, but on a mobile, you get the mobile version. But at the top of the page, there's a link to "Desktop site." Click that and you should get the regular version.
There's a slight complication in that if you go to m.mumsnet.com you always get the mobile one even if you click Desktop. We'll be turning that off later this week so that there's only www.mumsnet.com and you can use buttons / links to switch between the versions.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hi, The "desktop site" button should work properly now, even if you are on the m.mumsnet.com site. Sorry for the aggravation.

Hi, the reason the profile doesn't automatically go with the name change is because name changes are (or used to be anyway) used for potentially sensitive or embarrassing revelations. You wouldn't want people to be able to click on nickname "ImRevealingSomethingShameful" and see that it is in fact someone they know posting under a pseudonym.
Though thinking about it, we should maybe have a "bring my profile" checkbox on that page where you change your name. It might make things easier for people. Hmm.
