Recently, there have been quite a fwe Beyond The Pale comments posted very late a night.

Could you advise us on how best to deal with them?

We obviously report en mass, but atm they seem to stand for several hours and obviously can cause serious offence to posters.

Is there a way of dealing with this more expeditiously so these posts are seen by fewer people?

OP posts:

Glad Chaos has started this - the (luckily) only post I saw was unutterably vile and I felt so so sorry for the OP, if she'd seen it in her already fragile state!

I like the idea of suspension of the post until it can be reviewed; that is a good idea, to get it out of the public domain, so it can't upset people. I know people should take responsibility for their own feelings but seriously, the bile that was coming out last night (or whichever night) needed to be gone immediately.

Hope Tech can sort something out.

I don't like the idea of mass reporting leading to an automatic suspension of a post - during the f4j invasion I can imagine they'd have mass reported posts they didn't like. Trolls could easily abuse such a function.

Ooh
does one of my ideas being taken seriously mean I have officially arrived (after 9+ long years) Grin

If as Sunshinenow suggests, the 15 and out thing applied, then you could get the opposite thing occur where a troll reports on of us in order to get us suspended. Just a thought...

bronze · 06/04/2012 14:37

i think it has to be 15 seperate reports from seperate people so a troll would need to bring 15 little friends from school with them

Sunshinenow · 06/04/2012 17:51

Definitely separate people reporting.

I guess it is the F4j type who could mess things up. Do they have more than 15 chums separate chums?

Also I think an auto suspend function shoulda be able to be toggled on and off my mnhq. When lots of people around the need wouldn't be so great. It is the vile spam all over the boards with sick nonsense, who we want to zap.
