Ah, now I've got your attention MNHQ; I can almost here the klaxon sounding from here. Smile

I don't mean that F4J, I mean this one;

What's happening with our new topic? Eh? Eh?

Set the scene, woman, for the love of God! Pearlescent dawn, gleaming swell of the waves, the doeskin softness of a seal nose breaking the surface...

Northey · 14/03/2012 17:32

And do it in the proper thread. We'll never get our own topic if they think we won't keep things tidy.

ArielNonBio · 14/03/2012 17:32

Wrong thread. I'll do it on t'other.

Northey · 14/03/2012 17:33

:)

Grin Classic

As you freaky outdoors lot are all here, what's the best way to deal with the edge of the rubbery stuff coming away, partway up the toe of a gortex(?) boot? Will trusty super glue do it or do I need to seek out a cobbler?

ArielNonBio · 14/03/2012 17:58

I think you should seek out a cobbler, for no more reason than you could then say "I sought out a cobbler."

Some kind of sealant I'd suggest. Something which flexes. Sikaflex or something.

Grin

I had to google that. I learned something today.

GrimmaTheNome · 14/03/2012 18:12

My DH has mended his boots with superglue and it seems to be holding.

Northey · 14/03/2012 18:23

I would phone the manufacturer and ask what they recommend. Just in case it's a special sort of leather and nOrmal glue makes it dissolve or
something.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 14/03/2012 18:24

You see MNHQ we need a topic of our own-there are lost souls wandering aimlessly around MN looking for a place to ask "what is the best way to deal with the edge of the rubbery stuff coming away cfrom part way up a goretex boot" and end up in Site stuff, desperate.

S&B won't be able to help, they turn their nose up at such things...we need a home to rest our travel weary feet :)

NarkedPuffin · 14/03/2012 18:28

They're not uber pricey ones, so I think it's probably safe. I' think I'll try the new stuff - exciting bendy glue.

Hello
Well have you thought of a better name yet?!
I will post my local lambs to my profile for your delight and delectation.

GrimmaTheNome · 22/03/2012 21:27

Do we need a better name?

OliviaLMumsnet · 22/03/2012 21:39

Yes

UnChartered · 22/03/2012 21:42

The Great Outdoors?

too naff?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 22/03/2012 22:25

What's up with Outdoorsy Shite? Does what it says on the tin.

OP posts:
OliviaLMumsnet · 22/03/2012 22:27

@saggarmakersbottomknocker

What's up with Outdoorsy Shite?

1 it's not always apparent that you're discussing weirdy goretex from that
2 it might attract poo trolls.

GrimmaTheNome · 22/03/2012 22:35

Oh dear... thing is, MNHQ have taken so long we've got rather attached to it.
However, if Olivia's gavelled, I suppose we have to come up with an alternative if that's what it takes.

IamtheZombie · 22/03/2012 22:42

Zombie likes Olivia's lambsies. The lambsies are starting to gambol in the fields in ZombieLand as well.

Zombie likes this time of year.

OliviaLMumsnet · 22/03/2012 23:22

Well Quite Grimma

GrimmaTheNome · 23/03/2012 07:46

Has anyone thought of anything apart from The Great Outdoors?

we could have that but continue putting Outdoorsy Shite in thread titles to mitigate the naffness

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 23/03/2012 08:08

Hmm - I'm liking the compromise Grimma......
