Dear MN HQ, why can't I start threads while using the mobile site?

I have an android, hence not using an App.

It has probably saved me from several ill-thought-out threads, but still it is frustrating!

I write them all up, then click the 'create conversation' button, and hey presto... nothing happens. Sigh.

I'm using valuable computer time to start this thread while I could be on facebook

It works on my HTC. I start threads frequently whilst at work not doing anything important.

Oh. Just me then?

Should be grateful. I come up with some funny ideas in the middle of the night...

Does not work on my Nokia. I use Opera mini. Hundreds, nay thousands have missed out on my inane ramblings witty musings as a result.

Clearly not. Answering zombie questions is higher up on Tech's list than this.

Not just you. I flagged this problem ages ago and the response was that they were looking at improving the mobile users experience, and that the start thread page was due some work.

So I am reduced to continually hijacking others threads as I cannot start my own.

Tis a right pain in the arse.

Hi folks, sorry for the delay in getting to this. Is this only affecting Opera on android as far as you can tell? Is Chrome for Android working OK?

Smile (and anyone else affected) could you do us a favour and go to our tech diagnostic page on the device that's not working, then click "Send report." This will tell us exactly what version of what browser you are using and we can try reproduce the problem here.
