Thread 100 was June 02. So if MN did start in 01 then it was a very quiet sort of place - I remember some old-timer once saying there would be one page of threads that never changed, for days.

I thought it started in 2000. We need an old timer to tell us.

It did start in 2000. And was there sock puppeting going on in those early days I wonder (as Justine and Carrie answered each other and swopped. Did they use new names each time?)

Found my first post ever between 20,000 and 21,000 (not going to narrow it down too much) and I finished it with my name . My real actual name.

It's the new number thingy My first ever post was on 5547 and I too didn't realise you didn't have to use some form of your own name (never been on any forums before)

I still think fondly of the poster (won't name her) who admitted once that when she signed up to MN and they asked her to enter her nickname, thought they meant her actual childhood nickname. So that's what she became :o.
