Would it be possible to list the OP of the thread as well as the last poster within Active Convos?

GetOrf · 07/11/2011 12:44

If you go into a particular topic, this is how the list of threads is laid out - both names and date/time of OP and last poster.

Please can active convos be laid out in the same way?

OP posts:
JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 07/11/2011 14:11

I have no idea what proportion of MNers use each of the views. If everyone is already seeing OPs' names when looking at topics then I guess it wouldn't be a problem to have the same on Active Convos.

I prefer the thrill of not knowing who started a thread before I open it Grin

And I retract my Angry

(And irritate GOML with my overuse of emoticons Wink )

CaptainKirksNipples · 07/11/2011 16:32

Ah well. It appears most of her threads get deleted any way. I wonder if she requested its deletion or someone else did?

Shame MN can't do it within 30 seconds of her starting one though!

Pinot · 07/11/2011 16:33

This has been asked before. And before that. I've seen it twice at least...HQ always say they'll look into it.

MardyBra · 07/11/2011 16:45

I can usually spot a thread started by GetOrf anyway. There was one about old telly programmes recently and I immediately knew it would be a Goml thread.

You can usually tell which threads are worth avoiding from the titles too IMO.

HelenMumsnet · 07/11/2011 18:32

Hello, hello. Yes, this is On The Cards.

But the On The Cards list is quite long at the mo, so please bear with us.

GetOrf · 07/11/2011 18:57

Grin that's a lovely thing to say Mardy, I'm really chuffed.

I always used to recognise threads started by Cod as well.

OP posts:
GetOrf · 07/11/2011 18:58

Haha now I am actually paranoid that Mardy thinks my threads are as boring as fuck and are to be avoided Grin

Thanks Helen

"I only use Mumsnet" but I might leave if I don't get what I want

Good sucking-up/threats there :o

RatHammock · 07/11/2011 20:02

This is a great idea. There are some posters well, one poster whose egotistical adolescent nonsense I would rather avoid.

GrimmaTheNome · 07/11/2011 20:10

I always used to recognise threads started by Cod as well.

Teh lcue aws usllay in teh tltie...

MardyBra · 08/11/2011 10:31

Don't worry GetOrf! I luff the retro reminiscing threads.

nickelbabe · 08/11/2011 12:31

but Grimma - Chaos's threads are always like that too (have you outed Chaos as being Cod? ConfusedShock )

RustyBear · 08/11/2011 14:01

There is a subtle difference between Cod and Chaos's typing - Chaos can't spell, but Cod just couldn't type. Cod would transpose letters and put the spaces in the wrong place, but the right letters were generally there and because she usually got the first letter of a word right, it was generally reasonably easy to read: Teh clu ewas usuall yin teh title.

GrimmaTheNome · 08/11/2011 14:04

Yes, that's more like it - I used to be quite good at cod-speak back when she was prolific. TBH hadn't really noticed Chaos - there is another poster who does coddish style, can't remember who though.

nickelbabe · 08/11/2011 15:04

ooh, I could be Cod then. Wink

(except now that I've got the updated firefox with the spellcheck, I do back and correct my many errors before I post... Grin )

nickelbabe · 08/11/2011 15:04

go back....

nickelbabe · 08/11/2011 15:43

right, i've had this "show the OP" on chat threads for 2 days now, and I hate it.

GOML, i'm not backing your campaign.

debka · 08/11/2011 21:33

GOML flounced last night so you might be alright nick Grin

Trills · 08/11/2011 21:46

You don't have to have it nickel - it'll be an option.

MardyBra · 08/11/2011 23:43

GetOrf flounced. Noooooo!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 09/11/2011 00:00

She didn't flounce exactly, rather she announced that she was taking a break.

Dog-outrage related.

MardyBra · 09/11/2011 00:11

I did a mini flounce once. Lasted about 10 days. Got a lot done.

Hope she's back soon.

nickelbabe · 09/11/2011 11:17

she didn't!!! Shock

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 09/11/2011 11:20

Nah, it wasn't a flounce. She just said she's taking a break.

nickelbabe · 09/11/2011 11:21

God, that took me ages to find the thread. :(
I love the way she actually said "i'm not flouncing though" Grin
