Anyone else seeing things?

Twice now when I've hit post or refreshed a strange page has appeared. It looks like some sort of shopping page but it's in Korean or Mandarin or something.

The URL is www.Mumsnet.com and it usually disappears if I tab back. Any ideas what it is? Have you been infiltrated by Ninja purveyors of fancy goods?

Sorry to be so slow coming back to you. We've been trying to replicate what you're seeing but we can't.

Unless anyone else is getting the same thing, we think it may be a problem your end, rather than ours. Sorry Sad

Hi Katie, Quick note: the fact it says mumsnet.com on the dodgy site doesn't necessarily mean very much. If you were on wi-fi when you saw this, it's possible that the wi-fi router you using is compromised in some way, and is giving out bad name -> address mappings.

If, for example, there was something wrong on the wi-fi router that meant when you asked for www.mumsnet.com, you got sent to www.badplace.com instead, the server at badplace.com would know you'd asked for www.mumsnet.com and could easily put the mumsnet name in the page it showed you. You could try turning off wifi altogether on the phone (in settings) so you know you are going through the cellular / mobile network. If that fixes the problem, then the problem likely resides in whatever wifi network you were using when it happened. It would also probably rule out the notion that the problem is with the phone.

I don't want to alarm you, but if you are seeing this on your home network / router, it's possible that a virus downloaded on a PC has affected your home router. It might be worth running an anti-virus scanner on any PCs that are using that network. There are other things that could be causing it as well of course.
