Local Tsarinas wanted

With Mumsnet Local looking more lovely than ever, we're now searching for more Mumsnetters to join up as Tsarinas.

There are currently 40 local sites with no Tsarina to look after them (listed below) but we'd also love to see more Tsarinas in general - so if you think you'd be interested, but your local area isn't listed below, do still get in touch. The more the merrier.

For anyone who couldn't see the page on what's involved in being a Tsarina - here it is.

Thanks for showing an interest in becoming a Mumsnet Tsarina. We're really keen that Mumsnet Local helps connect local members, giving them tons of info on what?s going on in their areas as well as making it easier to meet up. It's an important role ? and mindful of that, we've got a whole host of treats planned for the people who make this all work ? which will soon include you, we hope!

If you do decide to become a Tsarina, we'll send you a proper How-to manual with all the necessary info on how to keep your local site updated. But before we do that, here?s a summary of the basic job requirements of a Tsarina, so you can see if this is the kind of role for you.

What a Tsarina does
The most important thing Tsarinas do is regularly check and update the listings on their local site, adding their own and editing other people?s. We?d also want you to pop in as often as possible and answer anybody?s questions posted in Local Talk. If you don?t think you?ll be able to keep an eye on your local site and update on at least a weekly basis, then being a Tsarina may not be right thing for you.

What you get in return
Apart from the warm glow of knowing you?re an integral part of the fabulous MN team, we do have some rather lovely treats in store for our Tsarinas. We?ll be posting regular prize draws putting all the Tsarinas? names in a virtual hat for some great prizes. And as you?re only up against a couple of hundred Tsarinas rather than the million-plus Mumsnetters, your chances of winning are considerably higher. We?ll also send you an annual Mumsnet Ambassador card, which you?re welcome to flash when you chat to any local companies ? who knows you might even get to review local shows or pantos?!

PositiveAttitude - if you take a look, you'll see we've separated Portsmouth and IOW out. The Portsmouth map looks a little odd which is what we're trying to sort out before we get you all set up - but don't worry, we are working through all the emails/PMs etc.

LisMcA/Twoifbysea - are either of you up for the role of Tsarina in your neck of the woods? If so, PM me and I'll get a local site set up for you.

There isn't one listed for my area, West Dunbartonshire/Argyll and Bute. I'd be happy to help if there's any plans in that area.

Milngavie/MrsGerardButler - looks like there's ought to be an Argyll site. We need to pick a geographical centre for the area, what would you suggest?

Inverary is a possible centre For Argyll or Lochgilphead, Oban andHelensburgh are bigger though. I'm in deepest darkest Kintyre .

I could probably do the Oldham area if there isn't anyone else. It's just up the road and easy for me to find out about things there. I did email a while ago as I was thinking of being a Tsarina for Hyde too but I never replied... I did add loads of events though. Is it possible to be a Tsarina for 2 areas?
