Oh god, what has happened to my interface?

It's horrible! It's all Times New Roman and all the frames have gone to pot so it's a huge linear scroll and I haven't seen this happen before except with the new government department websites just after the election and I don't know what to do.

Hey not fair, DamianTech thought of the same thing as I did at the same time, just posted faster Smile

DamianTech · 17/05/2011 16:43

@nannynick

Try loading the following page in your browser: Talk_new.css it should load quickly and display a list of words which may or may not make sense to you.

Also try loading mumsnet.min.css - the main styleomagicaldoodah. Input appreciated Nannynick. :)

Thank you Damian Tech, that is exactly the problem. The trouble is that the domain has been blocked by our IT people as a security risk and though I could ask them to unblock I need a business reason. And sadly I don't have one. Sigh. Less MNing for me in the future.

ShowOfHands · 17/05/2011 21:32

Mine keeps doing this. Frig all clue what you're talking about re domains and .css nonsense. Can you just fix it and then put the kettle on?

LadyWellian · 18/05/2011 14:07

Thanks Damian and Nannynick and to all who share my pain Grin. I actually do (just) have a business case for accessing MN, so I'll ask our IT people to unblock it.

Hi, this is also happening to me. All the links are in times new roman with underlining in a big long list. Very difficult to look at and move around the pages. I would be grateful if there was a fix. . At home it is fine. It has been like this since last week.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 20/05/2011 13:54

Sadly doubt very much there is a viable reason for getting domain accepted by work. sniff

DamianTech · 20/05/2011 14:21

Hi all,

We're looking to see if there's any way we can catch when the resource domain is unavailable, and load stylesheets from mumsnet.com instead when this is the case. Shall let you know where we get to in this regard.

sayithowitis · 20/05/2011 17:14

why can't I see any posts when I go to any of the threads? I can get to 'topics' and see the thread titles, but once I click a thread I just get a page like this one, where I can add my own message, but not read any others. It happened suddenly, I was reading one thread, clicked to go to another and everything had disappeared.

GetOrfMoiCase · 20/05/2011 17:20

It looks like a site from the fucking 90s! All slow as well.

I will have to do some work now!!

sayithowitis · 20/05/2011 17:25

Ok, have now managed to access talk threads, but only when I am logged in. I don't always want to log in. Sometimes I just want to read and take my time to think about my responses before I post. And sometimes I just want to read.

So, is this a new thing to force us all to log in everytime we want to read the threads or is it a glitch?

caramelwaffle · 20/05/2011 17:43

Really???!!

caramelwaffle · 20/05/2011 17:44

Oh. So that is what is happening - ruddy awful.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/05/2011 09:40

Sadly still not working for me at work.

Melty · 24/05/2011 08:11

Or me. Means I get more work done I suppose.
IT wont change anything, dont actually need MS for work...

DamianTech · 24/05/2011 10:24

Hi all,

We've just put some new changes live, so the page should fall-back to using mumsnet.com for resources if cdnmn.com is unavailable. If you had the page viewing problem before, please try it again now and see if it's working.

We hope that the issue is sorted now, but please let us know if it's not! :)

Hooray! MN is back to normal at work!!

I'm not supposed to use MN at work (it's a blocked site but I can click to get past that). Since Facebook doesn't work properly at work, I though the same had happened to MN and it was something on our end. Very pleased not to have to scroll through all that nonsense any more.

Thank you!

LadyWellian · 25/05/2011 09:57

All good here too Grin; it's only taken two weeks.

I got our IT people to do something so I don't know if it's that or Damian's redirect that's done the trick, but thanks anyway DamianTech and lovely MN people.

Hooray! Its working again. Thanks so much. Really brilliant to get back on here again. Thank you to DamianTech and the rest.

AdamTech · 25/05/2011 11:56

@AnnieLobeseder

Very pleased not to have to scroll through all that nonsense any more.

Thank you!

Glad it's working for you now. :)

Melty · 25/05/2011 12:49

Oh yipee, its working here too. I get the mangled screen first then it flips over to the nice "proper" one!
Thank you Smile

HawthornLantern · 26/05/2011 14:14

Tentative excitement here too. Am out of the office this week using work lap top, so had assumed that was why Mumsnet was its normal lovely self. Fingers' crossed it will stay that way next week... thank you all the Techs!
