mn very slow today

Is it just me?

no problems for me still - got my blocking still on (sorry mn, but without them it was really really bad)

very slow now, not noticed until this last hour - is pop up blocker on safari good enough to stop the ads or do you have to install ad-blocker...I am on a macbook

was great for ages today, no ads, no slowness. Had a chance to read and catch up on things for a change.

back to being crap now. Almost unusable at this pace.

MN has been very slow this weekend and is worse tonight.

I'm using Firefox and like others it's ads1.mumsnet.com that is displayed on the status bar.

How do I block scripts?
Am on Firefox.

Still slow. And it's Monday. And it seems to slow down everything else as well - if I close the MN tab, then suddenly my internet starts to work again!

Have not read whole thread - can't be bothered trying to load lots of seperate pages.

I've blocked scripts on google chrome - I googled how to do it.

It is now running fine

oh glad i found this, firefox here, and has been v slow to load on and off since yesterday morning. worse in the mornings and evenings. i feel all dialup ishy!!

for firefox go to tools - ad ons and down load adblockplus. When it is installed click on the red ABP button on your browser and 'open blockable items. You get a whole list. For the moment block the scripts with 'ad' in them.
Not kind to leave it on after mn have sorted the issue as the adverts are an important source of revenue.

The ad that it seems to have most trouble loading, is the mumsnet wine club - no idea if this is connected or coincidence.

Still having this problem (pages loading very slowly with "waiting for ads1.mumsnet.com" in status bar). I'm using Chrome.
