Depends how you do the 'smart links' Tee.

If you do them like it says --> there it did it for me earlier.

Tee's Blog

balloonballs · 02/03/2011 17:29

so www.theonion.com/

balloonballs · 02/03/2011 17:30

www.theonion.com/why?

balloonballs · 02/03/2011 17:33

Bugger, I used to be able to do Trillian's smart links but my power has been diverted by the force that is Terry Wogan's cock.

SoupDragon · 02/03/2011 17:35

Or, Flamingo, you could just put the link in properly to start with. I'm sure the internet won't explode if you do. Hmm

@SoupDragon

It's probably just to help out those who are too thick to do a link the proper way.

Someone please explain in English how to do this, thanks Confused

HermioneHatesHoovering · 30/09/2012 23:36

bumping for an answer please :)

Hello HermioneHatesHoovering. Are you asking how to "do" links?

If so, you just surround the url you want to make into a link with two square brackets (two at each end).

So, if you want www.mumsnet.com to become a link, you type the symbol square bracket, square bracket then www.mumsnet.com then the symbol square bracket, square bracket.

If you look at Links at the bottom of any discussion thread (below the Add message box), you'll see it all explained.

HermioneHatesHoovering · 02/10/2012 00:13

Hello Helen, No I understand about that, what I'm asking is for instance sometimes a linkwill just be one word, not showing the www etc but perhaps click "here" for instance. The word "here" would be clickable and takes you to whatever site. Does that make sense? So that is what I want to know how to do Grin
