Good day MNetters,
We've been asked if we'd host ads for McDonalds, so we thought we'd ask what you think. Would you object to banner ads (ie like the one at the top of the page) on Mumsnet?
Let us know.

I am surprised you even have to ask tbh.

hmc · 04/03/2011 23:42

Oh bless, do you really not get it? Awww - shall I post you some more links?

the BMI myth

hmc · 04/03/2011 23:43

Don't post when pissed, you might put your sarcastic invective on wrong thread!

corns12k · 04/03/2011 23:54

all you people moaning about McD's - I recommend a big mac and a strawberry milkshake as the ultimate hangover cure

usualsuspect · 04/03/2011 23:55

yy ..only a big mac will do for a hangover cure

corns12k · 04/03/2011 23:55

exactly

Chaotica · 05/03/2011 00:11

Haven't read the whole thread, and don't look at the adverts but I might consider not visiting anymore if I had to contend with the vile yellow M logo (and my children might see it - which says my computer use is endorsed by a well known brand).

Open in 20 minutes ladies! :o

SuiGeneris · 05/03/2011 09:04

Would not like it. At all. Even though it would be a good way to get other people to pay for something I like.
If you Are desperate for money and it's a last resort, maybe. Otherwise no...

TheGrumpalo · 05/03/2011 09:08

I have no problem with it.

popcrackle · 05/03/2011 09:15

I do have a problem with it.

I don't see McDonalds as an ethical brand or company.

coccyx · 05/03/2011 09:17

Please no. They are everywhere as it is.And yes i do purchase them occasionally

SeeJaneKick · 05/03/2011 09:19

No...that's right popcrackle...they're not! And it's not about the crappy food cheapening MN for me but the crappy ethics that would do a fine job on their own.

People don't give a monkey's about the Amazon Rainforest because it's not down their bloody high street....they can't SEE the devestation....they only care about cheap food to stuff themselves with.

Panzee · 05/03/2011 09:42

I thought British Big Macs were from British cows?

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2011 10:08

I object to advertising fast food on a parenting website.

I also object to the fact that it is in my head and I want fries. See how it works? How many people have said 'ooh, I fancy a Big Mac now?' Well I bloody well do now!

So yes, we all have a choice and we may or may not choose not to purchase, but its there and I have to stand in a muddy field watching small boys play football now, after which I have to feed them. And I am tempted to go to the drive through to give them lunch.

So its working already.

I won't be going, by the way.

southeastastra · 05/03/2011 10:32

big macs make you fat and they have a weird after taste..

dear hq

Is this really worth losing a few brilliant posters over? i really hope you think about that before you accept advertising from this bully boy corporation (who incidentally do nothing for local communities not here anyway). Please think about this carefully, i know you care or you wouldn't have asked.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 05/03/2011 10:34

I don't care.

southeastastra · 05/03/2011 10:35

god the bloody apathy no wonder people are lying down and accepting the cuts in this country

no one gives a shit about anything anymore

southeastastra · 05/03/2011 10:36

so hq seems most couldn't care less and some care very deeply

so don't do it....

TheOriginalNutcracker · 05/03/2011 10:37

No problem with it at all and no problem with it being advetised on a parenting site, as I have a mind of my own and can decide for myself wether to buy something or not.

southeastastra · 05/03/2011 10:37

they've eaten too much mcshit and it's addled their brains
