I have started a thread on this subject too and also contacted MNHQ but have not heard anything back from them.

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/02/2011 19:23

It's been like that for a couple of days (well, at least yesterday, but I'm sure longer). Annoying it is!

It's funny though - we've only had it 5 minutes and now we can't live without it Grin

BooyFuckingHoo · 26/02/2011 20:10

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/02/2011 21:12

ctrl & F puts a search box on the page and you can search for anything you like :)

DamianTech · 28/02/2011 09:55

Hi all,

The bookmark button seems to be working for me. If you're experiencing the issue, could you tell me what browser you are using?

~D

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/02/2011 13:59

Not working for me - I'm using IE

Malkuth · 28/02/2011 14:04

IE here too. I can bookmark by hovering near the message poster bit and when the bookmark comes up I right click whereever on the page I am, and the bookmark bit then stays put while I move my cursor and left click it.

DamianTech · 28/02/2011 14:06

Unfortunately the bookmarks feature does not support outdated versions of IE (this is mentioned on the Customise page). You'll need to update it to the latest browser version for full support on the site.

If you're still having this problem in IE 8 or IE 9, do let us know.

DamianTech · 28/02/2011 14:16

P.S. With regards to IE 7, the feature is currently broken due to other layout changes. We'd like to get this working again, but you'll have to bear with us for the time being while it is worked upon.

I would still highly recommend always using the most up-to-date browser version available to avoid security flaws and page layout issues.

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/02/2011 14:59

How do I find out which version of IE I'm using? It's a relatively new PC and I'm running Windows 7

Although this is academic, as they are working for me now!

DamianTech · 28/02/2011 15:17

You go on the help menu and click "About Internet Explorer" (or something like that). Windows 7 ships with IE 8, so you'll have at least that version.

IShallWearMidnight · 28/02/2011 15:19

I have IE 8 and the bookmark button comes and goes. Currently it's working though.

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 28/02/2011 16:58

DT - I'm on 8 and it's not working - it comes up when you hover near the 'message poster' but you can't 'catch' it - well not how you could before it 'broke' - you can do what Malkuth said (thanks!) but it's a bit of a faff!

Malkuth · 28/02/2011 18:37

IE8 here too.

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/02/2011 20:16

Ah yes - I have IE8.

But bookmarks not working any more! (Although I'm on my laptop at the moment, and I was on my PC earlier - no idea if that makes any difference!)

BecauseImWorthIt · 01/03/2011 13:42

Update, Damian! St Davids

I'm back on my PC, and have just successfully bookmarked a thread. But the next thread I went to, I was unable to catch that elusive 'bookmark' box.

BecauseImWorthIt · 01/03/2011 13:43

This is the one I could bookmark

BecauseImWorthIt · 01/03/2011 13:45

and this is the one I couldn't

DamianTech · 01/03/2011 17:17

This fills me with intrigue. I shall see if I can replicate anything tomorrow, but last time I checked bookmarks were working fine for my copy of IE8... Confused

Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?
