Threads I'm, on has gone weird

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 21:24

I'm on mumsnet classic and I like things old skool thanks very much.

Now threads I'm on has gone all weird - it's showing thousands of them back for days and days (normally I have it set to 72 hours only).

And it keeps resetting itself to display latest activity first - whereas I like having it my latest post first. Unfortunately every time I change it back to my latest post, it resets.

Whatever you're doing tech, STOP IT.

oops sorry for dodge punctuation in the title. Rage has made my commas misbehave.

Ponders · 25/02/2011 21:25

Oh I noticed that too, tyv - mine is set at 7 days but goes back about 3 weeks, and I have to keep resetting it to my latest post.

It will pass (possibly) Confused)

ceebeegeebies · 25/02/2011 21:26

Oh me too - it has been doing it since this afternoon. Thought I had clicked something by accident this afternoon Hmm

I keep going onto it and finding threads that I haven't posted on for weeks re-appearing cos they are still going and someone else has posted on it.

Agree - Tech, stop it and make it go back to normal Wink

fivegomadindorset · 25/02/2011 21:27

Mine is and I, customise mine, just seems to randomly put threads on that have disappeared but have then been posted on again.

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 21:29

Oh well I'm glad I'm not the only one.

And fivegomad - I notice rage has affected your commas too Grin

Tech, get thee to thy shed and fix this.

I can't bookmark, which is very annoying as I have the page set to unlimited so I need to bookmark!!

Not the same issue but I feel your rage just the same.

Ponders · 25/02/2011 21:33

what is this bookmark of which you speak?

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 21:39

See this is why it's all wrong - I just refreshed threads I'm on, and this thread should have been at the top, and I saw Scottishmummy had posted saying "so many humphy wee faces on this thread.biscuit arses"

And I was about to wade in with my berserker rage boiling, swinging my battleaxe and explaining how it's VERY IMPORTANT to me that my mumsnet is NOT TAMPERED WITH and that if she doesn't understand that she should FECK RIGHT OFF WITH HER BISCUIT ARSES.

Only just as I was about to get stuck in, I discovered she hadn't posted on this thread at all, but was commenting on some other random thread I'd posted on about four days ago and totally forgotten.

Tech, you're playing with fire, and someone (probably Scottishmummy) is going to get burned.

OP posts:
Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:01

should we organise an insurrection & set fire to Tech's shed?

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:04

I think to be fair we should give him until 10am tomorrow. But yes. After that. Definitely.

OP posts:
theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:12

and links seem to have gone strange too! I've just been on another thread and they're not clicking through any more, but instead doing a weird click and paste thing? What's that all about?

OP posts:
Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:13

I have matches....

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:16

I have some white spirit in the cellar.

OP posts:
Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:17

BOOOM!

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:19

Ponders? Ponders? Can you still hear me?

Your lips are moving but I can't hear your voice.

And your eyebrows have gone.

OP posts:
Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:23

tyv, are you there?

anybody???

Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:24

threads I'm on is still broken.

bugger.

maybe blowing tech up was a bad idea after all

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:31

Oh dear. Now we're stuck.

Luckily tech seems to be like Dr Who and regenerate in a new body every now and again, so we'll just have to hope he reappears tomorrow.

OP posts:
Ponders · 25/02/2011 22:38

fingers crossed...

(there's clearly nobody on duty tonight anyway Hmm so he was probably down the pub)

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:41

oo quick - shall we be norty? What can we do?

[name changes]

[runs amok]

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 25/02/2011 22:43

tech

we hate change round here

don't do it

TheSleepFairy · 25/02/2011 22:50

ponders if you go into customise you will find the option to bookmark.
When your engrossed in a very interesting thread & some annoying rl person needs your attention you can hover just above the refresh link on the post you are reading & bookmark it.

When you go back to the thread it automatically takes you to the bookmarked post - fanfuckingtastic.

PaisleyLeaf · 25/02/2011 22:53

I like it.
I've discovered whole conversations and updates have been going on in threads I was interested in but had forgotten about as they'd dropped off my radar.

I've got a thingie at the top I can change it with though.

tethersend · 25/02/2011 22:54

Oh god, make it stop...

theyoungvisiter · 25/02/2011 22:55

but customise seems to have disappeared too - hasn't it?

When my threads I'm on went weird I tried to find customise to see if it had got reset somehow, but it seems to have gone (unless i'm looking for it in the wrong place - it's supposed to be in "my mumsnet" isn't it?)
