I'm exactly as happy for them as I would be if I heard that any other couple I'd never met was getting married. Happy in a vague "that's nice for them" sort of way. But not hugely interested in the details. And not thinking that 23 threads are necessary to say "these two people have got engaged". One thread would be fine....

The problem is that people are lazy/want lots of replies so tend to post mostly in Chat & AIBU - I seethe inwardly every time I see a wedding thread not in the wedding section for example.

I sort of hanker after the days before AIBU and when there was a button you could press to see active convs without chat... ( I do know you can hide it but this was simpler iyswim)
