Dear MNHQ

Would it be everso cheeky to ask if you get the divine Jilly Cooper on here for a webchat.

It would make a lot of us very happy.

Cheers!

ooooh yes! I picked up Riders in a 2nd hand shop many moons ago when I was about 15(thought it was a horsey book!) and have been a Jilly fan ever since :)

ShirleyGarrote · 15/10/2010 11:23

please please please please please please please.

savoycabbage · 15/10/2010 11:29

Simply marvelous. I hope I am not too busy emptying my washing up machine to participate. Or rubbing the stains out of my cashmere with a grubby cloth. Or sobbing into a pheasant pie. Or playing naked tennis.

CountessVonKnackerstein · 15/10/2010 11:30

Great idea.

RachelMumsnet · 15/10/2010 12:03

We are on the case - believe me. I will send over a link to this thread to Jilly's publicity manager so if you're a fan, do post on here and it will hopefully strengthen our case. Will keep you posted.

rebeccamumsnet · 15/10/2010 12:03

Thanks for the suggestion, we are working on it ;)

rebeccamumsnet · 15/10/2010 12:06

Please, please, please - we'll crack open the sweet Cinzano (because MN is hooked on sweet sin).

faverolles · 15/10/2010 12:23

I reread all the JC books at least once a year.

Please come on and chat!

sharbie · 15/10/2010 12:29

another pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaasse Smile

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/10/2010 12:31

Was just going to post a link to that other thread.

Jilly - I have loved, worshipped and adored you since I was 14.

I still going round saying 'only peasants say pardon' after reading Class at such an impressionable age.

God knows if she can type, though. Doesn't she write her novels in longhand.

PR gurus - please do all you can to get Jilly on here. MNHQ will supply smoked salmon sandwiches and bantam eggs, and Krug. And if Jilly can't type fast enough for a webchat we will run a compeition for one of the Jillyfans to be her amanuensis on the day.

witchwithallthetrimmings · 15/10/2010 12:32

if you won't come for the moneys come for the mummies!

witch hopes this pun is recognised by most if not all of you

CJsSeveredHead · 15/10/2010 12:38

Big, big Jilly fan. Used to love her Sunday Times column, and have read all the books endlessly. Used to get the 22 bus home and think of poor Jilly leaving her MS for Riders on it ...

Sometimes actually relish feeling ill so I can tuck up with Rivals and lemsip.

Pleeeeeeeeeease!

BalloonSlayer · 15/10/2010 12:38

She writes them all on a manual typewriter. She can type all right. Grin

BalloonSlayer · 15/10/2010 12:41

If she comes on I may even slosh some Moet into a chipped mug and drink it whist Mumsnetting.

Finn15 · 15/10/2010 12:44

I am prepared to sacrifice a reasonably-loved family member (not pet) for a JC webchat.

weblette · 15/10/2010 12:46

I love all her writing, not just the fiction. Well, ok, especially the fiction. I'm just in awe actually.

Rannaldini · 15/10/2010 12:52

I love and adore Jilly.
Do come along!!

Rannaldini · 15/10/2010 12:55

I think she shaped the type of woman I became!!

I reread Rivals a month ago whilst awaiting the birth of DD3.
I so hoped exhausted dh would become RCB...

thereistheball · 15/10/2010 13:15

Please can this happen? Please?

staranise · 15/10/2010 13:23

I never realised it was the number 22! She must have been on way back to Putney from Peter Jones - very JC
