Here

Yes, I know there are many, many threads about this issue. I thought this warrented attention.

OP posts:
nutcracker · 25/08/2005 14:01

I meant to say I hope they don't get into big trouble actually.

lunavix · 25/08/2005 14:01

So regulars on MN have reported MN to this group, which has lead to the possibility of MN being prosecuted? Err... okay.

jampots · 25/08/2005 14:01

bet they do.

Do they get paid for each click through?

If so, shouldnt we all just click through and shield our eyes? then they get paid whilst its on

nutcracker · 25/08/2005 14:02

Was thinking exactly that Lunavix, nice eh ?

lunavix · 25/08/2005 14:03

nutcracker - nice people aren't they!

tatt · 25/08/2005 14:06

Read the link carefully and most of what they are complaining about is an international code - which I imagine has no force in law. That's even if you accept milupa have contravened it, a judge might not agree. And the ASA have declined to get involved. So I don't think mumsnet staff will be imprisoned just yet, its the thought police it needs to fear.

How did you find this out Badgerbadger?

SoupDragon · 25/08/2005 14:12

It does have a force in law as there have been successful prosecutions for contravening it.

I don't see where it says they have any intention of prosecuting MN for it though or any of the other internet adverts.

Blu · 25/08/2005 14:14

Milkymouth has been v upfront in saying she has told them, and milkymouth may or may not be a long-term MN - i don't know.

BUT any group like the one which is taking legal action, simply googles to find evidence of the product (or whatever) they are targetting - and the ad on the home page would have led them straight here! This is what maybe led Milkymouth here, for all i know.

The first response from MN wasn't very promising, Lockets.

I'm not Milkymouth, btw - I know it's been said on another thread that I am. But only when I've been drinking milk could that be true of me.

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 17:00

Yes, Misdee, agree.

caligula · 25/08/2005 17:00

I don't care whether the ads are here or not, I still want that helpline shut down or regulated. I'm going to continue to complain about it (away from Mumsnet) because it's got nothing to do with Mumsnet, it's about Milupa running a helpline which purports to help mothers breastfeed when what it is actually doing, is sabotaging them. And for that, Milupa deserve to be reported to any official body going, imo. I simply cannot understand how anyone can think it's all right to ignore them.

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 17:04

Caligula, yep. Want to start a thread about complaining and who you've complained to (if you dare...!) - I'm happy to campaign too!
