claret1980 · 25/06/2009 09:43

Hi everyone!

Managed to get my internet working at home!

Now to search for my next pushchair!

sweetkitty · 25/06/2009 09:43

Morning all

Would really love Dis's first wheels but am totally broke this month unless I get off my bum and get the Luna sold

5inthebed - I am so with you on the sleep deprivation, DD3 was up about 6 times at least last night, she has never slept longer than about 4 hours since the day she was born, sonce she has had this croup and cold thing she's got worse. I am at the end of my tether, last night she bit me twice as well. I am starting to wind down BFing as thats her a year in a few weeks, I wil feel sad but I need some sleep and my sanity back.

nicola - that's so annoying about your buyer, they should do their research before they start the auction makes me angry

Disenchanted3 · 25/06/2009 09:46

Sweetkitty, if you can pay for the postage and a bit of the cost ill send it and you can pay the rest when you've sold luna?

its just sat in the hall in the way.

Disenchanted3 · 25/06/2009 11:01

bargain bee here

maxybrown · 25/06/2009 12:09

Nicola - mainly use the Nipper actually - not bad considering it was bought purely to take away with us and to fit into camper easily. Then the Mac, ideal for the car etc. Mutsy not using much. When it is in rear facing mode his legs hang off the seat and catch on wheels, really irritating. Plus I don't think the seat is cosy enough for him when going to slepp, so I always have to shove something in with him near his head to prop it up. Think I may have found someone local to buy it though...we'll see.

Still want a rear facer.....can't believe your seller on ebay, crappy that is.

Liaghen have you still got infinity?

nicolamumof3 · 25/06/2009 12:49

afternoon all!

still no word, im starting to forget about it now tbh, gone right off the idea.

just had huge meltdown as have my dress fitting this afternoon, none of the lingerie i ordered fits! moaned at dp that i have no time whatsoever seperated from the children to shop, he offered to come home from work so i could go into fenwicks. but luckily found out bridal shop has underwear there i can buy. just feel kinda down, having no hen night as can't afford it and all my friends live all over the place, im just sick of all the pressure atm. with my course and placement, never seeing dp, relentless housework...

right moan over, im off to ironing board!!

FlyMeToDunoon · 25/06/2009 12:56

Good greif woman sit down and read a magazine or summat!
Weddings are unfortunately very stressful.
Dress fitting and lingerie buying might cheer you up.

Ebay seller poxy. If they relist we must all pester them with mad and inane questions.

nicolamumof3 · 25/06/2009 13:17

i wish i could calm down!! i am doing too much shouldn't have done my course really, but nearly at the end now!

FlyMeToDunoon · 25/06/2009 13:21

1-lie on sofa with damp flannel on forehead.
2-eat chocolate
3-read about Jordan and thank heavens you are not her or anything like her!
4-MN obviously.
5-DO NOT approach ironing board.

I mean it stay away from the ironing board.

Nicola I know you are ironing. Stop it!

Hi all,

sending a virtual cup of peppermint tea to you Nic lol

maxybrown · 25/06/2009 13:37

lol. My wedding was so small and lovely. Absolutely stress free. I mean small too. less than ten people. We just had no money but wanted to get married so we did it as nice and as cheap as we could and went for a chinese buffet afterwards. I reckon the whole thing cost less than £300 easily. Maybe even less, and that included my dress and everything. But my DH is so lovely I love him and that is the most important thing ....right you can all remove your sick buckets now!

The housework will always be there Nic, it's not worth it. We're having lunch and ging to feed the ducks....inbetween me deciding which rear facer I can get for cheap!!

claret1980 · 25/06/2009 15:12

Missed on a bjcm this morning, I was so gutted. Mind you dh would have been annoyed, I have to persuade him that that will be the perfect pushchair for our hols in 6 weeks.

Claire236 · 25/06/2009 16:00

I'm trying to decide what to buy for ds2 & would appreicate any suggestions. Ideally I'd like the following:

  1. Car seat with base
  1. Car seat which fits onto pushchair but not directly onto the frame - I live in Germany & baby's due in Dec & from the ones I've seen where the seat fits onto the frame they don't provide a lot of protection from the elements.
  1. Something reasonably lightweight
  1. Rear facing initially - ideally in a pram type fashion

I really like the look of the Silver Cross 3D but it doesn't have a car seat base which we found really handy with ds1 so definitely want again. Hope you don't mind me picking your brains.

5inthebed · 25/06/2009 16:21

Nicola, I'll pop on the train next Saturday and come visit We could have a girls night out, and a few bottle of wine. I could do with the break away from the kids. Would need to bunk in with one of the boys though lol.

Seriously woman, take a breather, the ironing can wait.

Claire, what about something like the Mamas and Papas Pliko Prammette? It's just like the Silver Cross, but lighter and IMO a lot nicer. They are also known as Peg Perego.

nicolamumof3 · 25/06/2009 17:26

hiya girls im back from my dress fitting, was v.lovely, made me look nice and slim. always a good thing, turned out was wearing bra far too big! needed 34c or 32c lady in shop said not the 36c i had bought woops so spent £85 on underwear in there, but it fits great and is comfy and the dress looks amazing.

Yes i did do the ironing first.

DP made chicken salad for dinner we've had it already befor ehe returned to work and strawbs and icecream for pud. yum!

5in...you're on!!!

sammysamsam · 25/06/2009 17:28

fellow pramaholics! - im not really a pramaholic (i don't think- well, not in the same league as you lovely ladies for sure!)I had to butt in as I have a dilemma..honestly, this is bugging me so much that I find I'm thinking about it all the time (surely this is not normal behavior!?) dd is 5months, and ds is 3.5yrs (he's a walker- but buggy sitter when on looong shopping trips-very rare nowadays with lo's in tow)

I have to downsize my buggy collection- just don't know which to sell, and which to keep..

BJCM
one handle, light, easy fold, extending hood, thrifty fold
not 'pretty' looking (all black), 3 wheeler (do'nt tend to go for 3wheelers)

Techno XT-
extending hood, narrower than BJCM, lovely looking buggy with the perfect round clasp to fasten, it's a Maclaren. do love Macs.
quite heavy in comparison to BJCM, takes up a fair bit of boot space with the legth and 'puffiness' of hood when folded

Quest-
roses one which i searched high and low for as it was so 'pretty'! premium pricetag so bloody expensive too.. very lightweight, nice fold size, its a Maclaren, love em.
not too keen on colourway now i've got it, lol!(typical..)..err..not much else really...

Volo-
deffo a keeper, great for holidays and quick stints, so lightweight and tiny, don't even notice it when in storage..as i said before, Mac's have a special place in me'art..also have this for ds, he likes it, and it doesnt feel heavy to push with hime in it
the accessory pack is a kerrfuffle, but i can't fault anything else

Buzz-
used with carseat and carrycot, but now put away as so friggin bulky. not gotten rid off as my best friend wants to have it for her bub due in dec..head turner buggy but not practical. big blimmin tyres at rear and that tiny front wheel..i dunno..

Pliko-
keeping as emergency package, stored in loft..wont sell it as worth a pittance methinks (p3 about 5yrs old probably!)has carrycot which doubles up as moses basket..carseat used when i wash the covers of my current maxi cosi

at the moment, ive 'virtually' sold the Buzz to my friend..the Pliko is dead (kinda), and the Volo I definately want to keep (not too sure why, but i just love it)..quest is good..or is it??

its the BJCM and the XT it's between methinks.. I chop and change decision every time I think about it..help me out, which one shall i get rid of???

FlyMeToDunoon · 25/06/2009 17:28

Hurrah!

nicolamumof3 · 25/06/2009 17:34

Sammy another maclaren fan i love em too! 5in will be able to tell you between mac and BjCM as she recently had both...and sold mac.

sammysamsam · 25/06/2009 17:39

ooh, thanks for that nic aka mac lady (i'd noticed you were too!), oooh, hope 5in comes along and does say her bit..
off the subject of the buggy dilemma- its astonishing to see the difference a well fitted bra can make!- so glad you ur dress fitting went well

maxybrown · 25/06/2009 17:46

Ah a c cup......I can vaguely remember when I was that....hope I get back down there again one day lol. Bet I won't though....grrr. Glad you got sorted though
