Ohh Carrie can I have first refusal please lol! did they price match for you?

HelenMumsnet · 26/01/2009 17:13

Glad to hear it

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 17:23

ooh whats it like! i've got mine to unpack now!!

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 17:24

I'm jusr nor sure about it, it does feel nice and that 'mew' nice, the refectors on the wheels are fab and the handles just lovely. It feels very very light to push but the blasted wheels do feel rattley (but I find that with all maclarens).

I am a bit sad that I think it will look better with a sheepskin liner but I really want a pink one. Bexie if you do want this one then it's your but please don't feel you have to have it what with everything else you have going on at the mo. Then it would be something nice and soft and comforting for him eh

Yes they did price match after a lot of 'we have reported them to Maclaren they can't do that' so I did the 'no worries I'll go and order one from Kiddicare' whilst walking out of the shop and they came chasing after me

lillypie · 26/01/2009 17:26

Oh carrie LOLOL

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 26/01/2009 17:27

pmsl Carrie!

Maclaren · 26/01/2009 17:31

Good for you lol!

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 17:32

pmsl carrie - have you tried it with dc in it? i feel theres more padding to seat than before. by the time i order a new liner in spring it'll be very comfy. plus still lovely to push with lo in it. i was shocked. as nice to push as xlr. but much better fold size.

lillypie · 26/01/2009 17:36

What shop was it carrie?

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 17:40

It was called Baby abd Co in Keynsham, I just did a local search for black xt and it came up and I thought could have a butchers. I paid on my credit card so will just transfer the pennies from paypal back to my bank account for when the bill comes.

Dd point blank refused to get in it in the shop (not a good sign is it!) so I had to use a toy!!

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 17:42

lol carrie good for you.

have to admit im disappointed. i think i preferred my grey xt. bit gutted i sold it tbh with the lovely footmuff and comfort packs.

material is exactly the same as my grey xt, like the harness tho the buckle ever so slightly different im not sure tho tbh?

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 17:45

I know what you mean, it's very minimalist isn't it??

I still hate the grey xt though!!

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 17:45

lol nicola - your unbelievable

think of all the different comfort packs and liners that will look amazing on the black. they grey went with so little. it looked ok. but the different comfort packs on the black will be head turners.

Maclaren · 26/01/2009 17:48

Was thinking it may be worth asking the snunkie lady if she could make comfort packs bet she could!

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 17:51

I agree elmo, it's very sort of sleek looking and with just a bit of emphasis I'm hoping I am going to love it.

Looking at the furry buggysnuggle that is black and silver tip (is that right?) insted of my wolf one now.

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 17:56

yep you are probably right, i don't like the new pockets tho they are too low down good for raincover, but no little mobile phone pocket anymore

if the comfort packs were out now then i would be a bit happier, i should try my black footmuff on it i guess. but won't use til i get my dazzle then will compare!

Hopi · 26/01/2009 17:57

Hi carrie Just seen your cheeky message on the for sale board lol! My new Maclaren came today and it is absolutely gorgeous! I won't be selling it EVER I don't think I will try to upload some pics later. Just trying to find a funky footmuff to go with it now. I have a plain black Maclaren one and a Buggy Snuggle style paw print one but I think it needs something else IYSWIM. Hmmmm, something to surf for later.

It's still a yes please for the Lulu covers as and when you are ready. Just let me know the total and how you want paying and I'll sort it all out for you.

I am in buggy heaven at the moment

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 17:58

i see it as like the lulu guiness . they are all black with different patterned seat. basically xt is your black. but you can change the liners instead of changing the full pram or covers set??

does that make any sense?

i mean look how lush it looked with the fuschia nest on it. ad i'm trying out the lime kaiser when it arrives from mrsm before i decide which is going on xt and which on jane. i will put up with that untill i can get my grubby little mitts on comfort packs and liners in spring

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 18:02

nicola your definately marmite opposite from me. i love the new pockets as you get raincover in. and i can get a tall juice bottle in other along with my long full size purse. and a packet of crackers. bonus!!

pocket should also suit you as it's just the right size for nappy, travel wipes and purse. you wont need to use your basket for any of that stuff. plus you wouldn't need to take out your nappy and wipes for emergencies due to being able to fold with pockets still full.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 26/01/2009 18:03

Don't know if this is the right place to post but can I ask for recommendations where to buy Maclaren Footmuff? Just discovered they fit Bugaboo Bee and would ike to get a bargain. TIA

SparklyGothKat · 26/01/2009 18:07

I saw some in Tkmaxx on saturday, can't remember the price but were cheap

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 18:10

elmo ive got it with the lambskin on it now looks super lovely!!! have decided to sell zorbit footmuff now as just doesn't go on xt either. i bought it to use as liner for my hols but the lambskin looks so fab i shall use that now for my hols. yes you are right about the pockets. i think i was just expecting something sooo different to my grey xt and of course its not.

do like the black frame/wheels tho. i think i will be keeping it!!!!

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 18:12

I haven't washed the covers yet Hopi as too scared in case I ruin them so will sponge and hairdryer them later. Would say 40 pounds posted??

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 18:20

the covers are fine in the machine carrie i've put all my maclaren covers in machine on a woollens wash come up lovely if that helps.

Hopi · 26/01/2009 18:21

Lol! It's not too difficult in the machine - does your machine have a wool wash cycle or similar? I've put my red Maclaren covers through that way loads of times and it has been fine - not a bit faded either! If you can also squeeze the hood through the door then I'd put it in a pillowcase as the clips could damage the inside of the machine £40 sounds fine - how would you like payment?
