phew. most of the housewrok done. i say most. but tbh not much. still got some windows to clean.

we have gone cold turkey on the dummies with ella today. she's up in her bedroom screaming her eyes out for it to go for a nap. decided to start with this then potty train once i'm ready. i'll get some knickers. then one day i'll get up and decide "todays the day" just like this morning i decided "todays the day of no dummies"

plus i have 3 packs of nappies still here i need to use up

BexieID · 26/01/2009 12:20

I was wondering why the toilet was being flushed, Tom was in there putting loo paper down it and flushing!

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 12:31

ahhh the toddlers favourite pastime. loo flushing

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 12:32

Back from my walk, it didn't really rain when we went it was just sort of 'in the air' like you feel daft with a hood up. Hair now enormous from the damp air, might just stick it in a pony tail to see Lillypie later and might need to take my gumboots by the sound of it!!

Slight change of heart about black xt, dd asleep in black quest which is defo going (lovely but just a bit plain??) what if I feel like this about the xt? Am I being greedy getting the xt just because it's the newest shiniest and must have buggy?

I do think I really want one and it WILL be the last buggy and it's replacing the dear departed bug cam????

Lillypie prob be after 2ish??? Don't look at my hair.

BexieID · 26/01/2009 12:36

We need to start potty training. Tom is 3 in April and all his pals are or are in the process. Was quite funny at toddlers on thursday as everyone had those portable loo seat things! I sat there thinking, i'm going to need to buy one of them! I will start after he's recovered from his op on wednesday. Maybe take a potty training book with me to read as it's an overnight stay for us both.

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 12:38

Oooh 4 and not out what are you after???

Dd likes washing her hands then drying them then washing them then drying them and putting things down the loo that shouldn't be there!!

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 12:41

wish ella would wai till 3yo. she's only 18 months!!she's one of those types that wants to learn to do everything RIGHT NOW!!

Maclaren · 26/01/2009 12:50

Elmo Boys are always slower on the up take than girls!

Bexie i would wait until the weather is better i8ts best to do it when they show the signs is he waking up with a dry nappy and does he ask to be changed after going? Max didnt bless him didnt care he was sitting in it he was 3 1/2 when he was finally clean day and night.

Right need to do a few hours ebay before picking Max up did quite well over the weekend made £150.29p (cant leave out the 29p lol)

pushchair · 26/01/2009 12:51

DD3 is 2.4 now and I would like to get her started but she's showing no interest. Will need to get started soon if she is going to nursery september.

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 13:00

afternoon girls, will get the pj's posted for you maclaren.

we have a day of training how to present ourselves for interviews cv prep etc as we are all being made redundant end of April.

its ok, i think i have decided on the childminding tho either that or off to college in september if i can to do some kind of teaching assistant training.

dp just emailed me to say XT has arrived and i've just called and paid for dazzle.

Carrie if you want xt and can afford it then get it! i wouldn't worry its like me and the dazzle i just want to try it. and dp not said a word about it was so amazed. i have said that will only be keeping one or the other tho not both

sal1309 · 26/01/2009 13:01

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 13:06

Have found a baby shop in Bristol (going later diff part but going there now!) that have black xt in stock so going for a nose. They also price match so could email them when I get home if I like it then get it dilvered (or pop back ot collect it) sat.

Excited!!!!!

elmoandella · 26/01/2009 13:11

ds was trained at 18 months. but he still has regular accidents. if i hadn't had dd i wouldn't have pushed him into it. but bless him i was pulling my hair out with 2 sets of nappies and mess. trained him so he could go himself and i was just doing 1 set.

dd is defo ready. but not dry thru the night as she till taking her dream feed until stopped it last night. she was barely wet this morning when she got up. she's ready in all other aspects. speaks about it, goes to get the wipes and starts stripping when she does one. can take her trousers up and down.

i just keep saying.."not yet, not yet" the though of a week of shit and piss everywhere disgusts me. but i suppose if i get it over with i can get my new carpet and rid of this hideous flowery number

nicolamumof3 · 26/01/2009 13:20

elmo it is good tho really. do you use reusables then? thats why you wanted elmo out of nappies when ella born?

tate shows no interest in potty or toilet says he's scared. hv has said to leave it and contact them in march if still no interest he's 3yrs 1m now.

right back off for my training now. can't wait to get home and unpack the xt tho!!!

pushchair · 26/01/2009 13:21

I had a nightmare training DD1. I felt under a lot of pressure and was surrounded by other mums saying 'oh yes mine has been going on her own for weeks now' and 'it just happened' and 'oh not started DD yet?"So I left DD2 for a long while and that worked out very well she was trained quickly and relatively painlessly. May get Dd3 started after Easter.

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 13:23

Bexie, was it his ear or his arm his op??

If I buy this black xt today I might keep the sheepsking liner thing though have wolf buggysnuggle that have only used twice.

Elmo I have so many pairs of 2-3 pants for dd as everytime I find some in the sale I get them (packs of 5 pink briefs last week in M and S for 50p - bought 4 packs!). Dd still not quite there and has such a big bum will prob all be too small by the time she needs them!

BexieID · 26/01/2009 13:23

Toms nappy is always wringing wet in the morning, but I do use terry ones. He doesn't ask to be changed, but he's not talking, apart from the odd word though (thats another problem).

I will have to start pretty soon as Tom starts nursery in August. I think i'll start in April, maybe try and do it over Easter (his birthday is Easter Sunday this year).

lol @ elmos 'hideous flowery number'.

BexieID · 26/01/2009 13:27

Toms having his tonsils/adenoids out and is having a hearing test under anaesthetic. I'm waiting for the hearing test result as want to try and arrange a SALT appointment whilst i'm there (and not be fobbed off). In fact, the doctors who saw him in their A&E were surprised he's not talking and one was quite concerned and asked if we were seeing someone about it.

horsemadgal · 26/01/2009 13:29

Hey Bexie, nursery can't refuse to take them if they aren't potty trained, so don't worry.
He has to know that he's going to pee/poo before he does and be able to hold it before he's anywhere near ready. Much easier and quicker done when you wait.
As for nights I'd wait until he's consistently dry in the mornings. It's a hormone thing and can even take until they are 7!!!

lillypie · 26/01/2009 13:31

carrie that's fine

pushchair I have posted your raincover lovely so it should be with you tomorrow. Had to be a bit creative with the packaging, but you'll see when it gets there. lol

Bloody hell I think I want an XT now and I REALLY don't like Maclarens

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 13:31

I haven't worked in paed's for quite some time so am prob out of date now but usually makes a dramatic diff after they come out. Or possibly gommits may also be needed. Literally like someone flicking a switch and the little one gabbles away and tells everyone off for shouting!!

BexieID · 26/01/2009 13:48

hmg, thats good to know. I hope he's at least weeing on his own by then though. When he needs to poo he always touches his back and arches his back.

carrie, I hope they can work out if he needs grommits while he is still under and get it done at the same time!

BexieID · 26/01/2009 13:52

carrie, DP still hasn't looked at the MB wheel (even though it's been sat in the living room all weekend) . I would do it, but don't know what i'm doing! I'll take the liner anyway though. My e-mail is BexieID @ hotmail.com

elmo, do you still have the harnes pads?
