Does anyone like the new Ocado app?
And if so, why?!
It seems very shouty & badly laid out (I'm on an iPhone 13, so it should be fine, I guess.)
Even worse, it's not offering Flash sales any more, have they stopped doing them?
What am I missing here??

Strange, mine have only been 30% off the last few days. I can't see much difference with the search function, apart from the annoying sponsored products that appear first!

But I'm still grumpy about having a jumble of products in the trolley rather than sorted by fridge/cupboard. It was so useful, and already existed - why get rid of really helpful functionality? The storage requirements must be held in their databases already, it's not difficult.

That is a really unhelpful change. I hate it. I may go to Waitrose.

I hate the new app too! ease of using the previous app was one of the main usps for me. This one is more difficult to navigate and the search function is poor.

Can we keep this thread going - we need to go viral and the daily mail pick up how much we all HATE the new app because it is falling on deaf ears at Ocado.

I have complained twice and lose my rag every time I use it.

The use by dates on each item I ordered this week are no longer there either. I used that a lot.

Now that I’ve got used to the new app I don’t mind it. I don’t find it that different to the old one. My only complaint is that it seems dangerously easy to cancel your order instead of editing it.

There are so many aspects that just aren’t there. I tried a different supermarket last week (I can’t shop in person due to chronic illness) and their app was rubbish and there were loads of subs.

is it a cost saving thing? Having less features to support?

I hate it and have also considered switching supermarket. Agree with PPs that I like to know how many bags I’ll have to put away and the layout is much less user friendly, plus my last two shops included three fish in the ‘3 for £12’ deal, I double checked they were still in the deal just before finalising the order but they charged me full price each time, so I had to contact them by email/telephone twice to be refunded. Not prepared to have to go this every time I shop and weren’t overly apologetic about it either.

The offers definitely aren’t working quite right sometimes and it can be so hard to work out if they have or not!

The offers take me ages to get to work and it is very difficult to check them.

Not about the app, but for the first time ever I’ve had an issue. I realised, thankfully before he left, that the driver hadn’t handed over a substantial amount of shopping. He went back on and managed to eventually find an entire tray of my shopping. It’s so hard to tell briefly as they hand over the bags whether you’ve got everything. I only noticed as I’d bought two trays of Pepsi max as they were on offer and he’d only given me one.

and the two cheap little candles I ordered as a bit of a treat arrived smashed to smithereens producing glass everywhere.

I’ve emailed and i hope the usual customer service standards are upheld.

I've just got the new app and it's absolutely awful. I can only see 3 items at a time in my basket, it's not sorted by fridge/cupboard, I can't see reviews, searching feels too zoomed in with only 3 items at a time.

I can't imagine what they were thinking but I've just done a shop elsewhere for this week.

Apologies if this has been answered already. Has anyone worked out how to change the settings so you just see item descriptions not pictures? I can only see about two things at a time on my phone screen, it's impossible to use.

I really don't like it, I can no longer go into favourites and choose which dept I want to look at, so for example, we need lots of fruit and veg and previously I could go into favourites and then essentially pick which aisle I was then looking at. With this no longer there, favourites is just a very very long list of everything I have ever bought.
They also don't show you the discounted price, so if something is on offer, it shows you the same price even if you have picked an on offer item, meaning I am constantly having to do the maths myself to see what the discount actually works out at. This is such a pain and it also doesn't show it clearly on the receipt and they have overcharged me and I didn't Immediately notice because it's so difficult to see that they have overcharged as the discount is lumped together as one amount at the end!
I have actually cancelled our smart pass for the first time in 9 years.
I want the bar code scanner back as well while I am having a moan.
I doubt a few protest unsubscribes will have any effect but they really have pissed me off removing basic functions like seeing the prices!

Twice I've edited and when the shop has arrived it's got the pre edited shop. It's very frustrating. I really thought I'd done the edit then gone through the endless process of checking out but somehow I haven't. I'm quite tech savvy but I hate this app.

I can't get grid view on the basket so I can only do tiny top up shops rather than full shops because it's like a crazy memory test when I can only see 3 items at a time.

Ocado say it's just my phone, everyone else on Android has the grid button 🙄

I've got a delivery pass with waitrose now and won't be renewing my smart pass. Which is a shame because I liked Ocado and the brands they sell but this app is unusable and they seem unable or unwilling to sort it
