asked ds today about Sylvanian Families stuff. Any ideas? And are there cheaper, similar brands, because he is coveting it a bit

Someone ought to write to the manufacturers of MLP and suggest a "My Little French Butcher's Shop" (little hatchets and meat hooks etc) for all the clapped-out baldy scribbled-on nags to go. The kids would love it.

We have a load of animal hospital stuff which is much cheaper, especially secondhand. But we do have a growing collection of Sylvanian families too, as dd1 plays with both collections obsessively.

Expensive but at least she plays with it. Unlike dolls house and many other toys which just get ignored.
