asked ds today about Sylvanian Families stuff. Any ideas? And are there cheaper, similar brands, because he is coveting it a bit

(quite proud, that my 4 y o knew that 6 pounds was a rip off, for 2 plastic chairs and a squirrel wearing an apron, tbh)

actually he is a bit crap on gender generally

he threw a MASSIVE strop in clarks today because he wanted "boys shoes-PROPER boys shoes" and the assistant was, apparently, bringing out "silly shoes" (he is not normally so rude, was )

it turned out "PROPER boys shoes" are pink, with at least one flower and a buckle and preferably a free dolly or something chucked in.

"Has he ever seen a little diamond?"
pointydog is that a euphemism for twinkle or something?
filly you must get him together with franny's ds. last week I offered him an item of his free choice from a gift shop and he chose a delightful fairy tiara and wand combo. which he later wore with a tutu and ballet shoes and wings.
he looked absolutely edible.

pointydog · 03/09/2007 20:04

as this is mn, I thought I ought to qualify a diamond as being 'little' as some people might imagine something bigger than a sylvanian animal

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 20:06

yes i must

but as i think you know, harpsi, I am actually getting to the stage of shock at my own inability to meet up with MNetters

This very weekend I was meant to meet with ticky, but instead spent a pleasent few hours having an emergency scan instead

harpsichordcarrier · 03/09/2007 20:07

oh dear that does sound bad.
is ticky that awful then

fillyjonk · 03/09/2007 20:12

she is LOVELY

I have seen a photo, and was only mildly intimidated.

I seem to meet up with strangers off yahoo all the time. If only you would all get onto yahoo, it would be so much easier.

TooTicky · 03/09/2007 22:03
Hmm
fillyjonk · 04/09/2007 18:49

I am not sure if that last comment reads as I meant it too...

What I MEANT was that you looked very NICE but also, I am 4 months pg and do bascially look like crap atm (or at least that is my excuse), and you clearly DON'T....

nice so see you back on MN so quickly...

MrsBadger · 04/09/2007 18:56

nb the 80s flocked items hovering on the edge of remembrance were generally teddy-shaped keyrings and/or pencil tops.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 18:58

I thought filly was just being rude rude rude...the vaguely remembered touch of peach fuzz....

HC you are very flattering about my ds, you describe his charming fairy antics, and omit to mention the fact he taught your one year old to pull hideous faces and to eat like a dog

lol

actually i think its more cinema seats and so forth, so franny is not far off.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 21:16

ook

cinema seats [shudder]

do Sylvanians feel like that? I can't be doing with that, it's one of my Funny Things

my little ponies are good and very robust

why only the other day dd bought Tea Set ponies for less than the price of an actual tea set

and dd2 hasn't managed to break it yet

(btw MrsB the stable is going v strong indeed)

MrsBadger · 04/09/2007 21:25

bonza!

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 21:26

How much do MLP's cost? Are they fuzzy?

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 04/09/2007 21:28

I think you can buy a basic pony for four quid

their hair is Barbie-esque if that bothers you

but no they are not fuzzy

Cappuccino · 04/09/2007 21:29

and of course Asda do their own version which is cheaper

but honestly, you have to have some standards

SauerKraut · 04/09/2007 21:31

Perhaps your ds wouldn't mind popping over here and giving my 3 dds a lesson in pocket money management and good economic sense, F & Z, as they all blew the lot on the rabbits with cots and within a day or two the fuzzy things were lost and the blankets were being used for Higher Purposes (which I shall not mention here).

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2007 21:37

yes I can lend him out I suppose

looks like angel
dances like fairy
budgets like Gordon Brown
eats like dog

OP posts:
SauerKraut · 04/09/2007 21:51

3/4 completely compatible with my dds, then!

TooTicky · 04/09/2007 23:09

Goodness Filly, you didn't think I was offended did you?

Franny, if you want My Little Ponies, I have some lurking around from my childhood which you'd be v. welcome to (I LOVED them)

TooTicky · 04/09/2007 23:10

They are not fuzzy though.

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2007 08:02

Blimey, no offence TooT but those would be quite elderly ponies in the grand scheme of things

Are they not due for the My Little Knacker's Yard?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 05/09/2007 10:23

They are still in good fettle thank you very much and what's more their manes and tails are not even matted (I was an obsessive plaiter and brusher)
