I want the fastest thing on four wheels that I can fit a baby seat in...

I actually do, but can't afford one. However I'm a bit bored of posts asking about 7 seaters ;)
If I had the money, it would be a close run thing between a C63 AMG estate, Audi RS6 Avant, BMW M5 touring. The C63 just sounds SO GOOD.....
And car seats and buggies fit in the back of all of those. Win-win!
Have I missed anything?

Maserati Quattroporte

WMittens · 17/03/2014 08:30

I'm very tempted by a C63 at the moment, not sure if it's affordable though.

Surely the E63 would fit better with the RS6 and M5; the C63 is more of an M3/RS4 competitor.

fourlegstwolegs · 17/03/2014 22:40

E63 doesn't look quite as edgy..but yes is certainly plusher.
M5 touring now down to about £17k. They aren't making the current one in touring form. Fools....

Alpina D3 Biturbo

Alpina D3 Biturbo

It's a bit slow, even by diesel standards. The BMW 335D/535D give about 50% more power, the M550d (pity it's not available in the UK) has about 80% more.

boobyooby · 18/03/2014 13:08

DH has the C63 AMG - funnily I don't get to borrow it v often, but when I do, everytime I start it up it makes me smile ...... a lot

DO IT, you only live once :D

fourlegstwolegs · 18/03/2014 21:21

If my new business venture takes off, I am SO getting one.
I want a V10 before they are made illegal ;)

My (now ex) DP has a Maserati Granturismo. I can just about get the baby seat in the back but it's a major faff. Plus it doesn't sound quite as good as it should (he won't fit a sports exhaust). Plus it will be leaving quite soon, together with all his clothes.....

C63 isn't a V10 Wink

blueberryboybait · 18/03/2014 21:53

I have just had the X5 M on loan whilst my car is being serviced - I am in every kind of heaven! Trying to persuade DH why I need a new car.

fourlegstwolegs · 19/03/2014 09:26

Sorry meant M5!

I drove an X6M a few years ago, at ridiculous speeds through a vineyard in the Andes. It was still the most fun I have ever had in a car.

wmittens you wrong about the alpina and the 535d - alpina puts out 350hp and the 535 puts out 295hp... not sure where you get your figures from.

schoolchoicesdrivingmecrazy · 19/03/2014 22:59

New alpina d3 biturbo is fastest production saloon I understand

My DH has one

I drive a 911 4S which is beeyoutiful and tremendous fun. And I can fit 3 of my kids in it Grin

mythbustinggov · 19/03/2014 23:04

XF-R Sportbrake. My rather more standard Sportbrake is aces, and DD's cello fits in the back without dropping a seat... see here

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 19/03/2014 23:07

I've currently got DH's rS4 avant. He has my BMW 1 series m sport as I can't fit the double pram in it very well

I loved my BMW but his Audi is very nice and practical. Also understated - I do not like fast wanky looking cars

WMittens · 20/03/2014 08:22

I was looking at the old model's figures.

World's fastest diesel saloon maybe - the Lotus Carlton was faster back in 1990 than the D3 Bi-Turbo is now, and we have 600+bhp saloons. And although limited to 155mph for production, a de-restricted M550d would hit 185.

sydlexic · 20/03/2014 08:26

My BMW M sport was in the garage last week, I was given a Toyota Auris as a courtesy car, I might keep it, £20 for a weeks petrol instead of £200.

Amateurish · 26/03/2014 11:59

I also love the C63 - what a noise.

The Ferrari FF must be one of the fastest cars with 4 seats - 650bhp...

What model is it? You do realise that M-Sport is just a trim level? You might as well have said my BMW SE was in the garage - it tells us nothing whatsoever about the car.

fourlegstwolegs · 31/03/2014 23:28

The FF is monstrously awesome (I've driven it) but being pedantic, it doesn't have back doors. Shame the Aston Martin Rapide is not very sporty (ignoring the fact that it's hideously expensive) as it's a beautiful (4 door) car.
Wow, I do seem to like brackets ALOT.

Amateurish · 02/04/2014 10:23

Lucky you, I'd love to drive one! Who said anything about 4 doors? I've a 2 door Lotus coupe which I comfortably fit two car seats in the back of. The kids love it.

If we are requiring 4 doors, I would nominate the Panamera S!

fourlegstwolegs · 08/04/2014 13:51

Oooh, which Lotus?

OP posts:
Amateurish · 08/04/2014 14:17

Lotus Excel. Classic 80s wedge.

Amateurish · 08/04/2014 14:22

Another car I forgot to add is the Tesla S. 4 doors, 7 seats, 415 bhp, 0 company car tax.

fourlegstwolegs · 08/04/2014 15:58

Hang onto the Lotus. Future classic. Mark my words ;)

Cheers, so what do you have at the moment? Sorry to read that you are losing a Maser, love those. I've a new car arriving tomorrow, excited.
