....at Lidl from 27th July !!

Has anyone bought one from here as I know they've sold them there before but don't know what the quality is like

I haven't yet got one, but I saw those advertised the other day and am planning on getting one.

I did tho get some in-line skates for my DS1 recently from there and they are as good as all my DD's one that were twice the price from toys r us.

Going on that I would say that the quality should be fine!

Caligula · 20/07/2006 20:49

I was just about to start a thread about this in great excitement.

Can anyone talk me through what difference there is between the lidl ones and those ones which cost £100?!!

BettySpaghetti · 20/07/2006 20:58

That's what I was wondering Caligula! There is such a vast difference in price that it doesn't seem right

Everything else from Lidl is great quality, so I don't see why these wouldn't be (I just read my email and came scooting (ahem) over here to post, might have known someone would beat me to it!)

It may be that these are smaller or less adjustable or something than the expensive ones, but they must be worth getting - be at the door at opening time on the 27th though (the best offers sell out really fast)

Usually £100 eh? Perhaps I should buy a few and sell them on my ebay site . Agree go super early for doors opening as they will go straight away.

mysonsmummy · 20/07/2006 23:56

these ones have never been £100. you can say that about anything - some makes cheaper than others.

SecurMummy · 21/07/2006 00:00

the site won't give me my nearest store - there is one about 1 mile away from me but it is listing one about 30 miles away , any ideas how to force it or should I call customer service tomorrow?

SaintGeorge · 21/07/2006 00:02

When it brings up the store, click change store on the right hand side (under the postcode).

You should be able to manipulate the search from there to get the store you want.

SecurMummy · 21/07/2006 00:04

tried that and it lists the location of the store but when I click it it sets it back to the 30 mile away one

SaintGeorge · 21/07/2006 00:09

Very strange.

It chooses my local store (classed as 1.9 miles) but I can choose from over 20, at least 3 of which are easier to get to. I have been able to override it and select my own 'home' store.

What's the first bit of the post code for the store you want?

SecurMummy · 21/07/2006 00:12

the store I want is YO26

SecurMummy · 21/07/2006 00:13

It is odd because itis there, it just won;t let me have it, I guess it is probably a site glitch!

SaintGeorge · 21/07/2006 00:19

Hmmm, yeah all the YO26 codes seem to bring up the same three stores - none with a YO26 postcode.

Glitch. Stupid website

Pixel · 21/07/2006 13:17

Oh I really want one of these for ds. Do you think I should camp in the carpark?

Piffle · 21/07/2006 13:18

I was going to get one of these!
Now I will wait one more week!
Will camp outside before opening we only ever get one or two things like this

SecurMummy · 21/07/2006 13:20

Thanks for looking anyway SG, I will just have to camp out in hope that my store will have them

Blu · 21/07/2006 13:24

Maybe the bikes won't be stocked in the store you are searching? There are certain things that have never been offered at my nearest store.

BettySpaghetti · 21/07/2006 13:30

I have images of scenes like this up and down the country as MNers wait for Lidl to open!

Must report back to see how many manage to get one.

Don't bother calling Lidl customer services - i tried that, they don't have individual store phone numbers and they cannot (will not?) check stock availability on your behalf.

Don't know if any of you are near a Tchibo, but last year they had these at Tchibo - I think it's even the same picture! Tchibo stuff has always been OK - they're a German company, think Lidl might be too. (I think they were £20 last year, I was too late to get one!) You never know, if Lidl sell out they might come in at tchibo again.

lanismum · 21/07/2006 14:34

ooohhh thats good, i was going to get my dd a like-a-bike for christmas, but might try and get one of these instead, bet they sell out before i get there though!

Skribble · 21/07/2006 21:55

More like this I would say, MNetters all tanked up on Froot Shoots

poisson · 21/07/2006 21:58

WHY a woodne bike

Thomcat · 21/07/2006 22:06

Thank you so much for the nod on this. Have always wanted one for my DD who has special needs. Think the absence of pedals will be wonderful for her. So pleased, just put the daye in my diary! Thank you.

NotQuiteCockney · 21/07/2006 22:09

Our local store is having them on the 24th, at least according to the in-store flyer.

What size are the boxes? I am thinking about getting a couple, (spare for us, or for friends in Canada, where bikes like this are essentially nonexistant), but unsure about how I'll carry them!
