Advice on buying a used approved car

Hello,

I am hoping to buy a 'used approved' nearly new car from a Pergeot garage. I think I should try to haggle on the price a bit, and remember a post from ages ago, with a MNer giving some great advice about how they haggle with the garage; tell the salesman what price they are willing to pay and wait for the garage to phone back, or something like that.

Does anyone have any advice on how to haggle with the garage, whether I should be doing that at all, how much I should try to get off a car costing 10k?

You might want to have a look at Mumsnet Cars' own guide to haggling over the price of a car, PeerMon. There are some useful tips in there that could come in handy, and most of them are about getting the price down at a dealership (as opposed to with a private seller), so it's right up your street. Smile
