...or just one that hasn't got Bob the Builder, football, or camouflage on it

I don't care how much the f*cker costs as long as it is aesthetically pleasing, or at least not smothered in a TV character.

Thanks so much.

Oh did I mention he started nursery today?

glad you like them! I'm a convert: the placcy ones all seem to get food stuck in the seams, no matter how much you clean them, and then they go all manky and smelly. Wish they did older-kids-pleasing ones, though: ds2 (6) is getting a bit embarrassed by his Elmer one now.

cupcakes · 06/07/2006 16:40

Might get him the superman one from John Lewis (here as apparently it has a pocket inside.

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 16:41

No, good point cupcakes we need something decorated really. Those DK ones where they put the stickers on are superb, but the postage from the US is $15. I wonder if you can get them over here?

dd1 has always had a soft one and its never gone manky or smelly

you can clean the seams with a washing up brush pretty easily

(franny get the smartie one from Urchin, its got a handle AND a strap so they can put it across their chest)

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 16:43

Enid

we don't have sweets in the house

do they do one printed with quinoa?

ahhhh, it's a real watershed moment isn't it? I've done it three times now and it doesn't get any easier

poisson · 06/07/2006 16:44

cupcakes · 06/07/2006 16:47

ds has twin friends round after school and I have to carry (or get them to) two book bags, two water bottles and two lunch boxes. Ds has everything in his rucksack.

cupcakes · 06/07/2006 16:47

plus two cardigans when they get hot.

ellenrose · 06/07/2006 17:02

I've spent the day hunting for one of these for ds (also starting school in Sept) and a drinks bottle. Someone recommended the Sigg stuff - anyone got them?

poisson · 06/07/2006 17:03

cuppy

poisson · 06/07/2006 17:03

Enid · 06/07/2006 17:05

I, on the other hand, hate backpacks and rejoice that dd1 has got bored of hers

ZinedineZidane · 06/07/2006 17:07

englandflag franny, does that help?

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 17:10

Ah yes ZZ (would you please stop changing your name for 5 minutes )

We have the Sigg flask and it is indeed ace, but ruddy expensive. I am not sure if it is worth the extra money (one of dp's choices, I fear he was swayed by the impressive specifications - it's a flask ffs)

Sorry miss, it was in honour of Alan (and Monsieur Zidane's outstanding contribution to the World Cup)

...and the fact I find him really quite sexy in an unexpected way

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 17:15

I don't know who he is.

What is an unexpected way to find someone sexy? Like, with your elbows or something?

OP posts:
ZinedineZidane · 06/07/2006 17:19

at don't know who he is? Where have you been? He's the Captain of France and probably the most gifted footballer of his generation.

Unexpected in that he's not "pretty" or even particularly good looking and I'm sure a lot of people would think I was barking. He's also supposedly quite mystical which is an interesting attribute in a footballer . You never know, he might be a lentil weaver too

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 17:21

I don't watch TV or have the slightest interest in football.

Am interested in mystical Frenchmen, though, have you got a nice link for me?

Asda has some spotty ones in the picnic range (yello with coloured spots)- no characters etc. £2.50

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2006 21:14

What do you think of this one?

I am liking the tin style at the moment. I like Elmer but think he might grow out of it quite quickly.
