DD needs a waterproof coat for our holiday but the shops are full of flip flops

It has to be seriously waterproof not showerproof kagoul-type thing. If anyone has got one a girl would wear (ie not blue Wink) I'd be happy to take it off your hands for a fee! Age 8-9 would be good.

How quickly ? Can highly recommend \link{http://www.littletrekkers.co.uk/shop/index.php/browse/ae1376b888fd367474229fedffbe1517\Keela shown here}

WigWamBam · 21/04/2006 19:42

Try an outdoor/camping shop - Oswald Bailey is good, and Millets have loads in at the mo, lots of pretty, girlie patterns and colours as well.

KBear · 21/04/2006 19:43

We go in five weeks - been looking online but the top brands are so expensive (Trespass etc) and the cheaper shops are all summer stuff.

KBear · 21/04/2006 19:43

Our millets is tiny and rubbish - might track down a bigger one.

LIZS · 21/04/2006 19:48

TK maxx might have Regatta, dare2Be or other brands such as Sprayway, or Blacks.

or

\link{http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=2437&Product_Id=1963364\M&S} £9

KBear · 21/04/2006 19:58

FredB - thanks but the JL won't be big enough and the M&S isn't waterproof - just showerproof. We're off to the Highlands of Scotland so need serious rainwear (not that it will rain on us you understand - the weather WILL be glorious as usual). But thanks for looking.

The Keela coat looks like a plan though.

\link{http://www.outdoorgb.com/sshop/prod_info.asp?path=keela_kids_packlite_jacket\this one is Keela too} £11.05 Waterproof, lightweight

Just noticed that site also has the Poseidon one a bit cheaper \link{http://www.outdoorgb.com/p/keela_kids_poseidon_jacket/\here} £17.86

FredBassett · 21/04/2006 20:50

LOL - I look like a right tightarse, I just hate paying full price for anything Blush

cece · 21/04/2006 20:55

Quite right - never pay full price Grin

Peachyclair · 21/04/2006 20:58

Millets have loads, in surprisingly funky designs too

KBear · 21/04/2006 21:03

FB - I prefer the term "canny shopper" to tight arse Grin - I agree with you - i don't want to pay £35 for a jacket she'll wear on holiday and for the odd rainy day here then next year won't fit her. I'm after a bargain.

thanks for all the links.

FredBassett · 21/04/2006 21:07

Bin bag? Grin Wink

crunchie · 21/04/2006 21:10

Millets for sure. I got my dd's some peter storm ones that are pink and purple. They are now using them as school coats as they are funky enough.

KBear · 21/04/2006 21:12

millets it is then - they're doing half-price waterproof trousers too I see from their website.

Can't wait to go on me 'olidays!

OP posts:
Peachyclair · 21/04/2006 21:13

Yes, Dh has been annoyed by the renewed demands for a daughter purely because of the raincoats Grin

And the candy striped camping chair is MINE, I TELL YOU!

crunchie · 21/04/2006 21:16

Try \link{http://www.millets.co.uk/millets.storefront/Product.aspx?CS_ProductID=040164(BLG+Base+Catalog)&CatalogNavigationBreadCrumbs=Millets+Summer+Virtual%3bMIL+SS06+Kids(BLG+Base+Catalog)%3bMIL+SS06+Kids+Jackets(BLG+Base+Catalog}\here} Not to pricey and does the job. Zip up too rather than over the head. Can be delivered for £3.95, also comes with 1/2 price waterproof trs if you need them!!

You could get theese \link{http://www.millets.co.uk/millets.storefront/Product.aspx?CS_ProductID=041255(BLG+Base+Catalog)&CatalogNavigationBreadCrumbs=Millets+Summer+Virtual%3bMIL+SS06+Kids(BLG+Base+Catalog)%3bMIL+SS06+Kids+Trousers+and+Shorts(BLG+Base+Catalog)\flower power} for £7

Peachyclair · 21/04/2006 21:18
